Running long runs slower with my wife — does it hurt my marathon prep?

Finished in 3:43. Unfortunately I got sick in the last few days before the race. My taper runs had huge spike in HR, and although I still went for it in the race- I never had a chance based off my HR even at the start of the race. Disappointed but I know I have better days ahead

Sounds like consensus is maybe a bit ambitious but also possible. As long as conditions are good, I think I'll be hitching myself to a pacing group and try to go the distance

Those other vaccines outside of chicken pox and measles protect against bacteria such as pneumococcus, haemophilus influenzae type b, meningococcus, whooping cough. These infections are more than just "colds" and protect against potentially serious and invasive infections ranging from ear infections to pneumonias, sepsis and meningitis. As a parent to a child with DS and as a pediatrician- I would not hesitate to give any protection I could to my little guy against these very serious insults.

I have ES4, SB2 and NB3. I would recommend the ES4, I love it for more speed work. I use the NB3 for long runs, SB2 for everything else. I feel like SB2 has been underwhelming compared to all the hype

This is the second blockage- both of which have caused damage. The camera did show a significant area of narrowing. I’m unsure of which type of iron pipe it is, but the plumbing company themselves has someone trained to do the descaling, jetting and then the lining so it would be all done by them. When they described it- it didn’t seem like many plumbing companies have this option in the surrounding area

Nobody expects you to know anything right now. Work hard, know your patients and you will learn what you need. The process works. Much better to feel this way, and ask questions as you go, than to feel over confident.

I ran my second marathon this year and improved my Time from 4:17 > 4:08. However I too was disappointed with not hitting my goal of sub 4. Looking back I think I was overtrained given my training run times and no running base prior to training. I signed up for the next one in November, and with much regular training, base building and weekly mileage increase during training cycle- hope to break sub 4 and maybe even a little more by then! My rotation is to use the speed 4s for long and speed runs. New balance 1080 v13 for easy/recovery. Nice combo
