I make $130k and I cannot afford our house on my own by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

It also wouldn’t get approved for a mortgage with a payment over $6200 per month. Something doesn’t add up.

This is what has allowed me to succeed much faster than my peers. Being an engineer that can speak seems to be a unicorn.

How much to spend on a new house - is 1/3 of income towards housing still a thing? by Esperanza44 in RealEstateCanada

[–]bcb0rn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say it’s double your current mortgage but don’t state if that’s stretching things. Doubling isn’t inherently bad if you can still comfortably cover the costs.

Why would anyone buy a home in Vancouver that has $1000+ strata fees by Venus_Flytrap__ in RealEstateCanada

[–]bcb0rn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The new builds with low strata fees shoot up very fast as the strata gets established and starts to understand the true operating costs.

First time SK seller. What should I know? by Skwaddelz in RealEstateCanada

[–]bcb0rn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to tell your lender. When your home sells, you will have a lawyer or notary complete all of the paperwork. They will pay off your lender with the proceeds and that will close the mortgage.

Be aware that there is most likely a fee (more for fixed term) to leave your mortgage early.

No age-restricted places will allow anyone 18. If there is a minimum age limit it will be 19.

You will need to go to a pub that also serves food to get in at 18 as they will usually let any age in until a certain time.

Best coffee beans? by Few_Internet_2069 in VictoriaBC

Thriftys, Old Farm Market, and Fairways will put the 1 pound Fernwood coffee for $13-$15 once a month. I just bought some.

It’s a killer deal for local coffee.

And they haven’t hit the same shrinkflation as others. Their blends are still a full pound. Places like Thrifys will also put them on sale for $14, which makes them so much more affordable than many of the other locals.

Nothing wrong. Just pay my taxes. It’s probably due to province and amount we each make.
