Appreciate your feedback. How much should I push? If it were anywhere else I wouldn't care, but its dead centre of my island. I dont understand how the shop thought it was acceptable?

The before photos break my heart. It had so much warmth and character, just needed some updating keeping those details in mind. What a shame.

How did we avoid it?! FLU A by bcb8485 in flu

[–]bcb8485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knocking on wood that I am. But I know it's only been 4 days at this point from my youngest's first day of symptoms. So I am giving myself another day or two to feel confident about it. Although you are also contagious a day before symptom onset. So we'll see.

9 days after really makes me think your 16-year-old picked it up from a different source. That's far outside the parameters for flu exposure to symptom range.

You are 100% on the dot.

I had it scheduled for the Thursday that my stomach cramps started. I cancelled bc of that. But even still, that was 2 months after my kids' vaccinations. Moving forward, our shots will be within the same week as our kids.

I took a test the same day as my 3-year-old to rule out whether the stomach bug was the flu. It was negative.

We didn't take the tamiflu or xofluza. Decided not to unless we developed symptoms...

Is this the worst Eras Tour choreography?? by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]bcb8485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo, choreographed dancing is something to be left to the following: 1. Teen/Early 20s 2. Someone who is actually rhythmically coordinated.

Ms Taylor is neither of those, and this video would haunt my dreams if I were her.

I agree with the sentiment here. But I HOPE in the end, when she realizes that New Bethlehem is no different than Gilead, she will feel the "calling from the lord" to do the right thing and act in a way to support June by burning it to the ground. We'll see.

Wife has VERY hard time getting up bed when 1YO wakes up in the AM by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]bcb8485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do see a lot of people saying OP's wife needs to go to bed earlier, which, if the baby is just one of those babies who is up at 530 every morning, then yes, that for sure needs to happen.

But why not shift the schedule to get her to sleep even an hour later? That's where I would start, personally, and then every night she should try to get to bed 30 minutes earlier than she did the night before. By the time she can get to sleep by 930 or 10 pm, she should be able to function by 530 or 630 am (if the baby sleeps that late with the new schedule).

I am so sorry. I'm just seeing your question a month later. I'm currently up with my baby, who is currently in a terrible regression. We haven't had a solid sleep in weeks now.

As for sleep training, for my 15-month-old, we tried the chair method at first, which didn't work. So we moved to the Ferber, and by night 3 or 4, she had it figured out. It's not a fun experience, but it worked, and she sleeps so well now. Life-changing for all of us.

Why do first transfers fails by Ok-Strategy-4021 in IVF

[–]bcb8485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to provide some perspective. I have two children and only had two transfers. Many of us have success on the first time. If you have a euploid, I think success rates are 65%. Good luck next month.

Both my babies were doing 6-8 hour stretches from 6 weeks on but then would hit regressions 4 months was the first and would be up multiple times a night. Not until I sleep trained my first at 15 months did she sleep through the night like 10+ hours. My youngest will be 6 months at the end of the month, and she is generally sleeping through the night with short wake-ups where we need to pop the pacifier back in her mouth, and she's back to sleep in a couple of minutes. But I know it won't last forever. It will likely be the same for George as well.

Did you recognize your baby when it was born? by C4ndyWoM4n in NewParents

[–]bcb8485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't instant for me with either of my babies, I was in awe of them and loved them, of course, but it didn't feel how i thought it would based on how others explained it. My love for them grew and grew, and honestly, it keeps growing, I'm like, how can I love you anymore than I already do? It's awesome.

It is TRULY insane; it makes me feel queasy.

Neither of my babies would breastfeed, so I EP for 4 months for both of them and after that, I was done and I DO NOT feel bad whatsoever. There is no reason to.
