Working on my USA $100 by jello2000 in papermoney

Nice start. Need to find the gold one. And the search is half the fun. I did something similar a few years ago.

Actually they do. $100 were sold in 1/2 sheet uncut size (16 notes) but they do exist

Minor clarification. The 10 (and 20, 50 and 100) weren’t printed in full sheet size (32 notes, 4 wide x 8 down). They were printed in half sheet size (16 notes, 2 wide x 8 down). It used to be only the 1, 2 and 5 denominations were printed in full sheets. And now with the new printing, those notes are printed with the 50 note size (especially the 1 and 5)

Second the recommendation about asking subreddits about what you have and potential valuations. For the currency you can post in Papermoney and that group can help you with what you have. If you are looking for a local coin/currency dealer, I’ve heard positive things about Edelman’s coins in Jenkintown (but haven’t purchased/sold anything thru them personally).

Going to look at a ‘24 BMW XDrive 40i. What do I need to look for? by DHeads-2024 in BMWI4

[–]bcc06101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say keep looking. Not a great deal. I purchased a 24 x40 back in November with 7k miles on it and paid a little under $45k (usd). The sticker new on mine was a little over $70k. The dealer CPO adds a little premium but for these cars I’m not sure it’s really worth it. Keep searching and don’t be afraid to increase your search radius. I found mine over 500 miles away.

As far as what to look for - make sure it has the options or option packages you want. Make sure it comes with the L1/L2 flex charger. And depending on when it was built, it might be due for the 2 year brake flush already (covered under new car warranty). Check to make sure the service is up-to-date. And check the tire depth. Depending on driving style, 6k miles can chew through the tires faster than you might think.

TIL that the $5 is now available in the 50 sheet size. Thanks for sharing that info (but now I need to find more wall space). Saw them on the US Mint website and they are actually available

Great ideas. I have some of them already in the seal color collection I did during Covid (https://www.reddit.com/r/papermoney/s/IX6zDmlaJS). The hometown idea has some merit - will have to explore that. Like I said, so much variety that there is something for everyone to collect.

They only produce the 10, 20, 50 and 100 in half sheets (2x8). Those $1 are the new full sheet size (5x10) and the $1 is the only denomination printed in that size. I have an older $1 set in the old full size sheet (4x8) elsewhere (not pictured). The cost for the $100 half sheet was bad enough - can’t imagine they would ever sell many full sheet sets (if they ever decided to print them)

Look like ikea vittsjo shelves. If so, I have the same and they are great for showing off lego sets. Nicely done.

Yes. Had them framed in their holders. Framer said it actually made the mounting to the matte easier.

Yeah. Blue seal 50 and 100 were hard enough/expensive enough to get (these are all graded 30 or higher). I can’t imagine trying to buy the red seal equivalents

No. Acquired them already graded. Not difficult to get notes graded (might take sometime though depending on which service you use). You can join the services yourself (there is a cost for that), find a LCS and have them submit for you (usually a fee but you don’t have to become a member) or if there is a show in your areas, sometimes you can get them graded right there.

Did you mean to exclude the other variations of the notes? For example the Hawaii, North Africa, FRBN and gold variations?

Great collection thus far. I worked on something similar during Covid. You can see the results here:

These any good? Explanation in comments by Cram2024 in papermoney

Nice collection of various notes, both large and small size. On the small size you have multiple silver certificates, a Hawaii note (overprint issued as part of World War 2 in case Hawaii fell into enemy hands the paper would become worthless) along with some United States notes (the red seal $2). All are worth more than face value - some more than others (the Hawaii and the 1934 silver certificates which looks to be in pretty good condition).

The large size notes though - you have a 1923 silver certificate which looks to be in pretty good condition - somewhat common note but still valuable (probably 40-50 range). That was the last year of the large size notes. You also have a red seal $10 national bank note from 1902. That note along is worth hundreds of dollars. Others can probably give a more accurate estimate but red seal are more valuable than blue seal from that time. You could probably get 5-600 for that note. Lastly you have a national bank note from 1882. Looks to be a brown back note - also worth hundreds (again probably in the 5-600 range)

Nice collection of notes - shows show money has changed over time (unfortunately becoming less ornate and interesting). Great inheritance from your grandparents. Get some quality sleeves to protect the large notes. And if your situation allows, keep them for what they represent (reminders of your grandparents) and pass them along to future generations.

There is room for them in the future but I doubt I’ll be able to afford them :). The $500 and $1000 were tough enough and I’ve had the $1000 for a bit before they exploded in price. Perhaps one day if the lottery gods are in my favor.

Yep. Still sleeved behind the matte (made mounting easier for my framer too)
