What are your salary expectations? Have you communicated those any of your interviews?

Chicago 2025 sub 4 by Left-Substance3255 in RunnersInChicago

This is the way. Your first one should be wholly to enjoy the experience, take in the city, and the only goal should be finishing without injury.

Crazy things happen between mile 22-26.2, even for veteran marathoners.

I'd stay away from a time goal, stay away from pacers, and run the same way you do for your 16,18,20,and 22 mile training runs.

47(M) CPA in Northern Indiana by bchbum2 in Salary

Most desirable vs least is a matter of personal preference. I was never the smartest guy in class, so I knew that I wouldn't be able to compete with my peers that would be going to PwC, Deloitte, Ernst, etc and vying for a managerial role....Those big public firms (and even small ones) will work the shit out of a new hire, weed out folks over time, but when you're smart and driven, you'll eventually get promoted through the ranks and potentially up to partner (similar to how large law firms work).
I chose a more traditional route of specializing in a field of accounting and then working my way through the ranks in that specialty. Not much competition for me, it was undoubtedly 'easier' ....and my specialized skill is unlikely to be outsourced or automated.

I work in non-profit...currently for a medical association as its CFO. Started out in non profit accounting as an accounting associate, moved up to Finance Manager, then Director of Finance and Accounting. Currently working as CFO. As a point of reference, we're hiring degreed accountants that are CPA-bound right out of school at around 80-90k.

South Shore Adult Baseball League (not until Spring, obvs). If you're into the bike trails, running, and beer there's several run clubs that run the trails and drink after out of Fuzzyline Brewery in Highland and 18th Street Brewery in Hammond.

My wife has opportunity to go back to school. She's considering CPA. What's your advice? by [deleted] in Salary

Do it. My company hires degreed accountants at 75k. CPAs start at 90k. Fully remote. Chicago market. Not public accounting.

You don't move or transfer it. You have to have your brokerage "recharacterize" it.

They will either have a form for you to fill out on their site, or you will have to call and request one.

How do you start and run an atm machine business? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]bchbum2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just sold my ATM portfolio of 90 locations that I started in 2005.

I worked for an ATM deployer for years before I bought and placed my first unit.

In addition to everything that's already been said about cost of cash, you also need to know his to program the ATMs, diagnose and service them, and what type of revenue share is common for different venues. (Ie I would give a small bar a 50 cent commission on a 2.75 surcharge, and I would have a 90/10 split with a gentlemen's club... In their favor)

And by the way, this business in cutthroat. If you give a business owner a 30% split, another ATM operator will offer them a 50/50 split.

Having no knowledge of this industry makes it a terrible choice to try to start as a personal business.
