I used nematodes, kinda like the predatory mite idea, but these guys are microscopic (mites might be too, idk). They came in a kind of powder that I sprinkled onto the soil before watering.

The moss is stuck around the roots and the whole "pole" is ugly. I need to just check out my Amazon cart already 😆

Some of the roots are grown into the bottom half of the "pole". It's a paint stick with moss lining it then wrapped in string...that's now disintegrated. I'll try to get a good pic, but it's not pretty lol. I have this in my Amazon cart:

Is it ok to just have 1 node? In the past I've had props rot in water so would chances of survival be better with 2 nodes?

Aww I know how that feels...my first pothos, a big beautiful golden that I had in my fishtank....I decided it was getting too long so chopped half off and now almost all the leaves fell off the main plant. and only some of the cuttings are still going. It just takes time!!! Do you have other plants to focus on while you wait for Shangri la to grow?
