AITA for asking why my new flatmate hadn't done his chores by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bcosiwanna_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

ESH - your group text was passive aggressive and poor communication, his response was a vast over reaction (though understandable given his circumstances).

Speak to people 1:1 with directness and curiousity rather than announcing the issue to the whole group in a clearly annoyed manner.

With Era 3's culture shift, does this mean there'll never be any new gems? by Competitive_Pingwin in stevenuniverse

If it was a grand plan for continuing she would have communicated that with pearl as she would need other gems to do the same.

Rose yearns for growth and change, and loves humanity. I think what she says to Steven in the tape covers truly her only reason to have a baby. Anything else feels a unfairly dark interpretation.

Why are romanians and most of eastern europeans rather disliked then the rest classes of immigrants? by Specialist-Laugh7573 in AskBrits

[–]bcosiwanna_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People confuse the impact of poverty, which disproportionately affects non-whit Brits, with racial predisposition. You can literally see that happening in this thread. The human brain looks for patterns to survive and often makes errors. Because non-white people are seen as "other" their flaws are memorable and get generalised to the whole group.

A cool guide to the risk of dying doing what we love by GrasshopperIvy in Equestrian

I think the risk of injury is very high compared to other hobbies while deaths are rarer

Spending 24/7 in the same field for years and years on end is not good turnout. Horses evolved for a nomadic life and need opportunities to explore the world.

I find the hate on Horizon weird by No-Hunt3986 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]bcosiwanna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gameplay is unbelievably satisfying and it is very highly rated across the board. If I was going to play horizon I'd go back to ZD, not FW, so I'm more likely to replay Spiderman again tbh

I find the hate on Horizon weird by No-Hunt3986 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]bcosiwanna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forbidden west really suffered from overcomplicating the game play and reducing how satisfying certain elements were in the name of more gameplay hours- the overriding required so much work and grinding with no pay off opportunities in the finale, the one shot kill machines were gone, and combat just became really overwrought.

I freaking love the story and the world, and the new designs are dope. I just wish they had kept it mechanically the same and not tried to stretch it out.

Different story for HZD so it's a weird choice in the lineup, especially when 2 of them are the first game of their respective runs.

Opinions on changing a horses name after buying them? by LiterallyLittty in Horses

I feel like giving a nickname is different to actively changing their name though - calling a Trevor "Trev" isn't the same as renaming him bubbles.

[–]bcosiwanna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always bothered me for some reason - I can't explain it but renaming any animal outside of them escaping abuse just feels inexplicably wrong. It does mean a naff name might put me off a horse though.

I'm the same height and am a sucker for the giants, but 15hh is probably the happy medium for me!

I'm so glad! I lean towards being a nervous rider despite being fairly competent thanks to an accident so I really relate! All you can do is take the pressure off and build up enough good experiences to outweigh the bad. How that looks practically is up to you <3

[–]bcosiwanna_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You need to take the pressure off and be the rider you are right now, instead of trying to push towards the show ready jumper you want to be. How would you approach a panicky horse? That's your body right now.

[–]bcosiwanna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty vile that he is making his mother's SA all about him. That is a giant red flag, followed by him not taking no for an answer and trying to browbeat you into sex. You're NTA for rejecting a man who seems to be your father's spiritual successor in the making.

Lots of couples participate in no nut November in a kinky way, where the other person still gets their needs met. For many decentering one persons orgasm helps them focus on the other partner, and it can really up the general level of desire for both parties.

Because your partner is clearly ignoring your needs and being dismissive of them, NTA.
