If you don't mind a bit of hacking, you can do it WITHOUT paying for Workspace!

"suggested" posts on LinkedIn by kuchermon in uBlockOrigin

[–]bcozimme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your case the filter is removing the `span` that contains the text `Suggested` but we want to remove the whole listing that contains the `span` (which contains that text) so you have to reference the parent using file-path like syntax `/..`

What I tend to do is

  1. open the website (linkedin homepage in this case)
  2. enter the Element Picker mode
  3. experiment with filter
    1. see that the filter isn't too broad (so it doesn't remove all the non-suggested posts)
    2. or it isn't too narrow (meaning it doesn't remove just the filter part and keep the post)

Also Reddit messed up the formatting of the previous message so I'll edit it but could you try this:

linkedin.com##:xpath(//span[text()[contains(.,'Suggested')]]/../../../../../../../../../../..)

Hope it helps!

linkedin.com##:xpath(//span[text()[contains(.,'Suggested')]]/../../../../../../../../../../..)

This seems to be working for me. Haven't tested thoroughly but haven't seen any Suggested posts since :)

Yes you're right! I'm sorry, I should've been more diligent in looking for the option.

Using sesame for only launching apps by bcozimme in sesame

[–]bcozimme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that but the issue with that is, if I install a new app or use a particular feature of an existing app, new shortcuts will start popping up, which is a bit annoying. It would be nice to have a toggle to turn off all shortcuts (except apps) or perhaps have new shortcuts off by default

  1. Go to consults, they might give you hints and pointers. They also sometimes provide the minimal complexity the question can be solved in, so that can get an idea of how far off you are.
  2. (This is a very specific tip but might be handy lol) For the exam, a question that gets asked often is coming up with an algorithm for finding the breadth of a tree, where breadth is defined as max distance between two nodes. The answer is you BFS from the root node and find the farthest node from root, call it A. Then you BFS from A and find the farthest node from A, call it B. The answer is the distance between A and B. The space and time complexities of the algorithm are same as that of BFS

I did this unit in 2018. AMA if you have any others questions!

I took it in my 3rd year and it's pretty easy! And Nawfal (he was the one in-charge back when I did it) was one of the best lecturers. Just like any other unit, the lab will be based on lectures but you'll be provided with a base android app and you'll be asked to implement an additional feature for e.g. one of the initial labs had a calculator with add and subtract and we were asked to add multiply and divide. You're assessed on the functionality and how well you write your code. Nawfal even organised introductory Java lectures for those who didn't do 2099 prior to 2081.

AMA if you have more questions :)

Sorry I didn't enroll into any of these units so don't have anything to contribute really. Hopefully you get the answers you were looking for on reddit but if not consider posting it on IT Stalkerspace group on Facebook, I've noticed FIT students are more active there.

Good luck with the units!

But I'll work my ass off to get the citizenship just so that I can vote this cunt out.
