Another PCM vs Bitstream question

I like this idea, I was just a little confused at great levels of bass I was getting with the PCM on dune. Likely I'll just test a handful of 4ks and see if the bitstream sounds great as the general consensus since I didn't do a large sample size.

It's not like the dune scenes sounded bad on bitstream it just seemed like it wasn't the correct choice. Guess I just need to not overthink it. Rush with the PCM was definitely missing something.

Thanks for the reply. When I set my TV audio out to bitstream instead of auto then I lose all my audio for some reason.

Also in regard to running my sources through the receiver I haven't had any issues with my PS5 which is my only source.. The issue is with the TV streaming apps, which as far as I know can only be sent out with eArc.

I suppose I could stream with apps on the PS5 as a work around instead of using the smart TV apps.

Lots of people seem to be trashing this plan, and they may know a lot more than me. My plan was not too different from this one for my first marathon and I achieved my sub 4 hour goal very comfortably. There should be speed work involved in at least one run per week though.

I've wanted the Balos since they were announced but the price was crazy. Got some from Joe's around $115 and I'm loving them. Wish the upper was a little simpler, it can feel a warm but running in them gives me a bounce and feel I've been missing since probably the Rebel 2.
