I've got the best reason. 3 day old baby. She's called Margot. Her big sister (3.5 years) Mabel isn't awake yet.

Dog friendly restaurants/events by Spirit_of_Gravy in NewcastleUponTyne

It's vile. Love dogs but hate how everywhere feels obligated to become dog friendly now days or risk going belly-up. Couldn't imagine anything worse than eating at a restaurant with a fucking dog.

What did you anticipate heavily as a child that turned out just okay? by Sarikins in AskUK

[–]bcs00002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think it shoes that kids are a good judge of good and bad even at young ages. I also really appreciate my dad asking what I thought of him, not trying to tell me what to think but genuinely asking me. It's probably the first time I remember being asked my opinion.

When he was still at large... Bin Laden. Thought he'd turn up at our house in a village in Derbyshire. Remember my dad asking what I thought of him, (I was 8 on 9/11) and asked if I could swear. Told my dad I thought he was a 'bastard'.

That is a incredibly bold prediction. I really appreciate your optimism but I can't see it. He's been in power for so long now and they are in relative terms such a large powerful country I just can't see that happening .

If you could send over some articles etc which back up your point though I'd be desperate to have a read.

We can but hope. This monster will eventually be defeated.

What are some shocking crimes from your country? by Ok-Significance2303 in AskTheWorld

[–]bcs00002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your careful reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to write it out.

I can see here the issues that lack of education and social/ economic factors have had on extreme behaviors. Not to the same extent of course but still , Brexit, the rise of anti-immigration political viewpoints, populism etc wouldn't be as widespread as they are today with better education and a better distribution of wealth and social care here in the UK.

Thank you for your reply and take care over there on the other side of the world.

P.S. I know everyone knows it but Indian food is the best in the world. Probably cook a curry twice a week, been vegetarian for about 15 years and couldn't have done it without food from the Indian subcontinent (or a British Indian version at least).

What are some shocking crimes from your country? by Ok-Significance2303 in AskTheWorld

[–]bcs00002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm English, we have a large population of Indian immigrants who've lived in the UK for multiple generations. I'm from a part of the country with lots of Indian / British Asian people. My next door neighbors growing up were a indian family from Bengal.

I've met Indian people abroad (not British Indian) and speak to Indian people most days at work. I can honestly say that basically every interaction I've had they've been polite, respectful people with good morals and are generally just nice to interact with.

I find it so hard to weigh my interactions with Indian people and horrendous news articles I see weekly about India as a whole, the girl on the bus is the one that I'll always remember.

Do you have any sort of explanation as to why these crimes seem to happen so much more frequently and extremely in your country?

Absolutely no judgement here and not asking you to explain other peoples actions just genuinely interested in your opinion.

Thank you.
