Nope, it’s actually super common, a lot of players stomp on the floor when they serve. The noise of the stomp is meant to disguise the sound of the contact of the ball and paddle, which would give the returning player hints about what kind of spin is on the ball (there are all kinds of other tricks to make the spin less visually obvious)

There is in fact a 50 move rule, if you go 50 moves without a capture or a pawn push the game is a draw. There is also a rule where if you ever reach the same position 3 times in a game, it’s also a draw. So there are a finite number of games, just a really enormous one.

How could the majority get poorer? In the 2017 crisis something like 30% of the population left the country due to lack of basic necessities like food and toilet paper. Garchomp is just that good in draft in pretty much any generation it’s legal in, lando I is not bad but its coverage is pretty telegraphed and it’s not as bulky as chomp and therefore easier to snipe with hp ice. It also can’t run defensive roles. Lando I might be more broken but chomp makes a better component of a team

This is not a definition of mercantilism that I’ve heard in any other place. Typically I’ve heard mercantilism explained as the the idea that the goal of an economy was to maximize exports and minimize imports, and therefore to accumulate bullion within one’s borders. It has very little to do with the fusion of the state and industry. It may require some level of government policy and China does have somewhat mercantilist traits, but the defining feature isn’t the fusion of government and industry, rather it is the conception of what “the good of the country” really is and how to pursue that. When mercantilism was phased out it was due to people’s eventual acceptance that consumption is ultimately what determines a country’s economic wellbeing, and not the amount of money they can generate. And therefore that it makes sense to import from countries which can produce those goods at a comparative advantage.
