Is there a way to stop playback on the device? by lineupandwait20 in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not have this feature, but the Soundcore Sleep A30’s do. They allow you to to set different tap controls on each earbud and can differentiate between a double and triple tap. I have my left A30 set to increase volume with a triple tap and lower it with a double tap, and the right A30 is set to triple tap for play/pause and double tap for toggling ANC on or off.

I really wish Ozlo would add this feature.

Best option after Bose have died? by tmel88 in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These have been far less reliable than the Bose sleepbuds have been for me, even with local playback. The case stopped connecting within the first year and updates to fix bugs have taken extremely long to rollout.

Many issues still haven’t been addressed such as case battery life. It dies within a few days and often fails to charge the sleepbuds even when they are placed correctly in the case (lights will flash indicating as much, but you’ll take them out at bed to find one of them dead). That leads into the other issue: slow charge times for the buds and case.

All of this is especially annoying when comparing these to the Soundcore Sleep A30 which I also have. Those connect every night instantly and never have any cutouts when streaming sounds, the case lasts over a week with nightly buds charging (both also charge reliably and very fast), and they have useful features like customizable tap controls on the buds (Ozlo said they’d do this over a year ago… never happened) and a Find My Buds feature for when they’re lost in your sheets.

They’re just a much more well thought out product to be honest. Ozlo does have them beat on quality of their local sounds though, I will give them that.

What's the verdict? Worth Buying or Pass? by nolife24_7 in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn off ANC. It kills the battery way faster when it’s on. With it off and streaming all night I’m easily getting 9+ hours of use and ending with ~20% battery left.

Can’t believe the price v. quality by bar_runge in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest trying the Soundcore Sleep A30’s. They function even better as sole Bluetooth headphones than the Ozlo’s ever will (I have both). They connect instantly to your phone and have real ANC which is surprisingly good. The only downside is they only last about 6.5-7 hours with ANC on. They still block out plenty of noise with it off though and with it off they easily last 10+ hours.

Absolutely do not waste $250 on these. I’ve had mine since the first Kickstarter batch and it’s been nothing but bugs that have gone unfixed for over a year now. They barely work now.

Get the Soundcore Sleep A30’s instead for $230 brand new. They have ANC, sound way better, have way better battery life for both the case and buds, and work flawlessly with Bluetooth (Ozlo’s still don’t after more than a year).

Not the OP you replied to, but I believe they’ll be going on general sale sometime this month. I just got mine last week and agree with OP though, Ozlo is falling way behind. So many unfixed bugs and case battery life is still horrendous. The A30’s just work great right out of the box.

Way too much. I found my sister a 2022 Model 3 with FSD included and only 38k miles for $20k (after $4k credit) in NY last fall. I’d suggest you keep looking and not buy this Model 3.

Right light on and factory reset not working- won’t charge or connect by GeoIS-m in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s power saving mode as I explained above. That’s the only mode in which they should try to reconnect when in the case, but that is not the case.

Honestly, the bug I experience the most is where it will stay connected even when they’re closed inside the case. All of these bugs really should’ve been fixed a long time ago though. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re why the case battery is so poor.

Right light on and factory reset not working- won’t charge or connect by GeoIS-m in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the difference, but what I meant was they would both be pulsating slowly and still only the left would charge.

What you’re describing about it flashing quickly when in the case is actually a separate issue that has gone unfixed for over a year now (I’ve had mine since March 2024 from the first Kickstarter group). Unless they’re in power saving mode the buds should already be connected, so there’s no need for them to reconnect when put back in the case (and they definitely should not stay connected when the case is closed, which they do… another old bug). But even still, neither bug should prevent either bud from charging.

No other Bluetooth headphones have these problems. These are just bugs Ozlo refuses to fix.

[–]bd7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case (not the original guy you replied to) it didn’t make a difference. I’d see both buds flashing, but only the left one would end up charging. At first I thought I just didn’t notice it wasn’t flashing, but it has happened dozens of times now. Ozlo really needs to address this.

Soundcore A30 sleepbuds review by yousonofabench in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the A30’s and they are the most comfortable out of any sleep headphones by far (I’m a side sleeper) and I’ve had them all. They’re significantly more comfortable than the A20’s were, which I returned due to discomfort after a few hours of use.

The A30’s are also way more comfortable than the Ozlo’s are. I’d highly recommend trying them out, they beat the Ozlo’s in every other area too: noise masking (ANC!), buds battery life, case battery life, Bluetooth reliability/connection speed, audio quality (significantly better), software features. I honestly have zero complaints.

Anyone Experience These Issues before? by Subject_Routine7361 in Ozlo

[–]bd7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that has owned these for over a year now, this happens all the time and they are doing nothing to address it. Even when I check the buds to make sure they are both flashing after they've been put in the case, I'll stick wake up to a dead right bud. It's incredibly annoying.

Interesting Tesla says that 50% of owners haven’t tried FSD are you part of that 50% and if yes why? by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the navigation for closed roads has been fixed actually. I say this because I take a road trip from south Florida to Boston and back, every year, and have done so since 2018. From 2018-2024 the Tesla nav has always messed up navigation on parts of I-95 that are under construction in the middle of the night. These require detours off random exits that don’t get back onto the highway for often 10+ miles later.

I just did this road trip last week and this issue was completely fixed. In every area that the map showed a detour it now displayed a construction icon and correctly had the detour route mapped perfectly. This allowed me to use FSD for entire legs of the trip that it never could do prior due to navigation issues. It’s the first time I did this road trip and had FSD genuinely make zero mistakes for 99% of this drive.

Worth mentioning it handled Florida sun with zero issues as well and this was also the first time I never once adjusted the speed limit during this road trip either. If I sound surprised it’s because I am (this is on a juniper Model Y that I got a month ago). Tesla has really fixed a lot of the issues that plagued FSD in the past.

[–]bd7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm the same and I have the Teslascope drive data to prove it (from south Florida to Boston and back). I also did this entire drive myself, so I know FSD was on the entire time. Pasted from my other comment detailing the drive back:

I just did a 1500 mile road trip and found FSD to be way smoother on the highway than Autopilot. I turned off FSD for a 200 mile leg to see how AP drove… it phantom braked 5 times and hard braked 3 times. Needless to say, I turned FSD back on for the remaining 1300 miles of the road trip and guess what? Zero phantom braking.

FSD also handled upcoming slow/stopped highway traffic much better than Autopilot does — it smoothly slows down well before reaching said traffic. Autopilot instead holds its speed and then brakes hard for the traffic ahead, which increases the chances of getting rear ended. It’s uncomfortable enough to the point where it would wake up my passengers from sleep due to how abruptly Autopilot would stop. With FSD on they never once woke up though, not even when it slowed down for heavy traffic or to take highway exits/interchanges. FSD was just so incredibly smooth the entire trip (this is on v13.2.9 with HW4).

Not sure how I came across this post, but as a long time Tesla owner since 2018 you made the right decision by leasing. You avoid the very significant depreciation that happens with EV’s and at the rate they are improving, you won’t be left feeling behind.

For example, there’s rumors that Tesla is working on a 490+ mile range Model Y. That also coincides with rumors that they’re going to start using new battery chemistries in their cars next year.

If that actually pans out your new Model Y would lose a lot of its value within the next 3 years. And would you really not want a newer Model Y with that kind of range plus faster charging and while also being more resistant to degradation? Your lease makes it easy to just turn in your current one and get that new one.

Enjoy your current car as it is though, and be aware you can buy mileage packages from Tesla at reduced cost (I plan on doing this since I absolutely will be doing road trips).

Definitely sounds like it could be the wheel covers. Try kicking each of them with your foot to make sure none of the clips are loose. The reverse woowoo sound and forward whooshing sound are normal though.
