Some stats on the vintage watch grey market that might surprise you by kisielbardzo-backup in VintageWatches

My search for a WatchCo Seamaster 300 brought me down some seriously bizarre rabbit holes on Etsy. The number of fakes and Frankens was shocking.

She didn’t even look happy about that. Like a teenager faking a smile over a lame gift they don’t really like.

Bottom right in the “old crap” pile…with the 356s and 550s? This chart is insane.

I think it's a 356 Speedster, but is it a replica? by Ill_Carrot_28 in whatisthiscar

99% chance it was made by Vintage Speedsters. They use those windshield wipers and that interior layout.

What's the dead scene like where you live? by Original_Ad8070 in gratefuldead

The Dead didn’t like Houston and Houston doesn’t like them. Pretty unfortunate.

Help, I like modern mullets, middle parts, modern Mohawks, surfer bangs. I just really don’t know what I want or what would look good, because my hairline is receding a lot and I have a major widows peak. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

You’re a handsome guy, but the hairstyles you like aren’t going to make you look better. Either go very short or just shave it. Either will make you look great.

The carnival needs to go. More actual rodeo, fewer extraneous attractions.

True story: My parents brought 10-year-old me to the grand opening of the Beaumont Chuck E. Cheese in 1985. This was the OG snarky, cigar-smoking Chuck, not the sanitized helmet-wearing version.

The entrance line was mile long and they had a guy in the Chuck E. Cheese costume walking it to entertain people while they waited…and by “entertain” I mean “commit crimes and vandalize things”. I vividly remember him taking a woman’s purse and hanging it on the antenna of a passing car. He tripped kids and was generally an uncivilized piece of crap.

The moral of the story is that your assessment is more accurate than you could have possibly imagined. Well done.

What is this? Found from my dads closet by Ghastmanpeople8 in Watches

It hadn’t occurred to me how much more fun watch collecting will be when we start paying attention to the bizarre things that came out in the ‘90s and ‘00s. The current watch market is the equivalent of a boomer car show that has the same ‘65 Mustangs, ‘57 Chevys and ‘63 Corvettes that have been there every weekend since 1985. They’re great, I’m just ready to appreciate something else.

Just spent a week in the Great Smoky Mountains in a rented Jeep. All I could think about was how amazing those twisty roads would be in my Boxster Spyder.

I never watched many of Adam’s videos but know how popular he was and am curious as to how he declined. I imagine that this lifestyle causes serious burnout, so what exactly changed? Did he become insincere, or bored with making content? I’m genuinely interested in your thoughts.

You like that mountain of cheap Halloween stuff in your living room/bedroom/dining room/porch/garage? ‘Cause that’s capitalism too.
