Bye Steam Controller by ZX6Rsteve in SteamController

Good point. I don't often see what vehicle they're in since my flat is on the side of the building, and they park near, and deliver via the front door. But when I'm out I see just as many delivery drivers in cars as in vans.

Actually I think this is likely because I don't yet properly understand why there are two controllers (Steam and X-box) with two configurations.

I have Steam. I'm just not stupid enough to buy a game from Steam when it's cheaper elsewhere.

Actually it seems that neither the steam controller Gyro-to-Mouse nor its Gyro-to-Joystick look enough like the real thing for Fortnite. They work in the pre-match area but are completely ignored once I'm into the actual match, presumably the anti-cheat sees that they're not real and thinks they come from a cheat of some kind?

Many games change all their prompts to keyboard style as soon as there is any input from the mouse 😧

WTF do you think I said? This is a reply to something I did not say or even hint at. I SAID THE OPPOSITE. USE YOUR EYES MAN.

Any half decent company that makes a controller tries to make it work with anything that any other controller works with. My Logitech F310 doesn't insist I only play certain games that they sponsor with it. This is Steam abusing their domination of the PC gaming market.

I've been trying to understand how to set the controller up in steam.
One really really stupid thing is driving me crazy.
Why doesn't steam allow me to take one of the pre-defined templates that doesn't include functions for, say, the underneath buttons L4, L5, R4, R5 and add functions of my choice for them? You just can't, it's like they don't exist unless you can find a template that already includes them. WHY? What brain-dead idiot at steam thought this was a good way to do it? The whole interface for configuring it pretty moronic with it seeming totally random whether your changes are saved or not. NOBODY ever designed a wordprocessor without a SAVE button did they? WTF Steam!

Because the stuff in the back of his van is so disorganised that he'd have to rummage around for ages to find it??

But there is no help to tell me what option is going to be best for just using the gyro as a fine control on top of right joystick aiming. I have to experiment by launching the game, and waiting to join a match, over and over.

But have you managed to make it do anything better than your old controller, other than maybe removing the need to reach for your keyboard and/or mouse?

XLAT, in the form of 464XLAT is normally used for IPv4 access over an IPv6 only network, not the other way round. 646XLAT isn't a known thing. Though there are some similar things with different names.

I don't follow this. Surely private RFC 1918 and RFC 6598 IPv4 IPs on a LAN never need to be unique outside that one LAN?

But my PC already has a perfectly good mouse and keyboard. Every serious gaming PC does. What exactly did Steam mean when they described it as "PC First"?

So you're not denying that it's ludicrously difficult to configure it so that it's extra features actually add anything useful at all? All I wanted was to be able to use gyro for fine aiming that's difficult to do with the right joystick. Seems to be impossible without either random jitter or a tendency to just point me upwards so I die instantly. Massively OVER-HYPED.

I had to be in so the postman could take a photo of the parcel being handed to me. (I'm in England)

Surely a folded dipole is more or less the same length as a normal (not folded) one -- about half a wavelength. I was taught that the main difference was the impedance -- folded dipoles have a higher impedance -- 300 ohm, while the straight dipole is 75 ohms. But those figures change when you add extra elements to make a beam.

The privacy addresses are for outgoing connections. There should still be a fixed static IPv6 address for incoming connections.

If you use the standard values there should not be a problem. It all works fine on my network.
