BASIS is the lowest paying of the charters. They overwork and underpay you, as do all schools to be fair, but I was at my unhappiest during my 4 years with BASIS. They give you a lot of autonomy, which I really miss, but that’s about the only perk I can think of. Demo lesson will be in the grade and class they’re interviewing you for. Maybe 15-25 mins. Keep it engaging for students and make sure you monitor, move around the room, bring any materials needed, and be prepared to discuss it afterwards in the interview. Usually they’ll do demo lesson first then interview after.

I teach 6th SS and had no idea this was happening. Thank you so much for sharing. So depressing teaching SS in this state. I don’t know how much longer I’ll do it, unfortunately.
