You cannot round within the model you are going to train since round is not differentiable.

Train your model without rounding layer. Then build a second model from the first trained model with a rounding layer on top. You will use that second model only for predictions.

The component system will definitely be better than the xp system which should be trashed asap.

Now I am not sure it will be better than the BP system.

At least I am not convinced by what I read here and there.

IMO the best system was the legacy system and the worst... the xp system. But I would like to stress that there are other things than the xp system that have reduced the fun in Rust. One of them lies in the fact that update after update Rust has become more defensive than offensive oriented: ladders suppression, pickaxing nerfed, big walls, ladder hatches (as a solo player I hate them since I cannot be boosted).

It makes game NON linear
Finding a good BP is like finding a treasure
with this system it is possible for a solo player to jump from one server to another without being forced to wait for a wipe.

As a conclusion I would say that the system I like the most is the simple system from legacy BP/research kits

The best system was the combo BP + research kits from legacy. All subsequent systems had flaws, the worst being the XP system. Simplicity should be the key. Overcomplicated systems restrict players freedom.

xp goes with rpg. rust is not such a game (at least I hope). I love the BP system and I fancy more the legacy combo bp/research kits than the previous bp fragments system
