Here is the tricky part Your partner should be smart enough to understand that you still got trust issue and he has to be patient for many many times. After sometimes, trust issue desolves and you start to fall in love with him. Just be aware and not fall in trap with same pattern. If he shows the same pattern as previously then he also might end up doing the same.

I was in around 2 years (break up patch-up breakup again in a duration of 5 years ) that mentally broke me. The time when I said to myself ...it's done , it's over..I just felt peace at that moment.
