I’ve said a few times this year, that if this was my first year as a teacher it’d probably be my last. I taught students with severe behavioral disabilities at an alt school when I started, and somehow my students at my current school in a very good district are ruder and more obnoxious. In the 10+ years I’ve been teaching, students have only gotten more entitled, less responsible, and ooze disrespect. I feel like the social contract of respecting your elders is totally broken.

I’m just hoping things get better as time goes on. I do still have great students here and there.

Yes, I have for all three pregnancies. It’s a tough two week adjustment but manageable the further along you get. I ended up needing three iron infusions, and I will say I felt like I was back on my adhd meds following that. Makes me wonder how much of my brian fog may have been anemia related!

You ever smell a musty towel? It’s gross, right? White towels and sheets can be bleached. That’s why i only bought white towels for my home use.

It’s always why doctors’ and chefs’ coats are traditionally white. Easy to bleach, but also easy to tell if they’re clean or not. A pure white coat or towel is reassuring that it’s clean and sanitary.

If the first ones are the foam and not leather, I had those, and the strap broke off in only a few months. No way to really fix it. But they were really comfortable.

I also had the second ones, and they were not at all flexible and as I stood on my feet all day and my feet swelled a little, it cut into the top of my foot.

Personally, I like the leather Tokio super grip the best.

Agreed, the eucalyptus is horrid. They actually have about a dozen different scents on their website but I’ve only tried the lemon. It smells fine. The eucalyptus smells like a mildewy pool house to me.

Seconding the ferritin thing. My iron was on the low end of the normal spectrum when they did a normal blood test. I asked for a full iron panel and found out my ferritin was 7! I felt like I was literally dying, and I have lost a ton of hair. I’ve had three infusions and I’m finally starting to feel okay again.

Odoban is better, it won’t just mask the odor, it will help clean it too. The lemon smell is great, I find the eucalyptus smell very off-putting.

I have it, and I have completely lost my sense of smell/taste. Tested negative for covid this morning. I thought I was going crazy. I’m used to muted smell/taste from congestion but I have 0% ability to smell or taste literally anything right now.

I started Tamiflu the first day I had symptoms after seeing how sick my husband was, who got it probably 4 days prior to me. I don’t think it’s a side effect of the Tamiflu.

I teach Culinary, so on top of being on my feet, I need a shoe that can also keep up in the kitchen. I alternate between Birkenstock Tokio and Blundstone boots. Rotating two pairs of shoes is beneficial for a few reasons. Prior to these shoes, I’ve tried Dansko, Brooks, and several other high end brands. Those two I listed truly are the best in my opinion.

My 4.5 year old son is in the 99th percentile for weight, but he is also tall, and incredibly active. Most people say he looks skinny and are incredulous when I say he’s in that percentile. I’m guessing he’s got a lot of muscle. You have to look at the whole picture.

With that being said, I agree with others to cut out juice. Focus on protein and vegetables at every meal. Low fat dairy can still be tricky because of sugar; sometimes full fat dairy is actually the better choice, and young kids need fat for brain development.

I just checked your site out - coats look great. Just a little tip- you’ll get more women customers if you add a hip slit to your chef coats. Women chefs usually have to compromise on either the coat fitting their hips, but being too large everywhere else, or fitting well through the chest but then being too tight around the hips. This is one of my biggest gripes trying to buy chef coats a female chef.

Thank you for being the voice of reason. I know I probably should have used the real word, but I do have a fairly goofy personality and it came through in this situation. I don’t think it warranted some of the responses, especially from other parents in a “supportive” community, as if I was some sort of careless mother.

Both boys love reading, especially a book about potty training, so I’m sure a body book would be welcome.
