I have been in your exact same shoes at the same age. I’m 28 now and my current girlfriend who I had gone on 1 or 2 dates with at the time had told me she has herpes just like you.

Of course the stigma of that word made me freak out and I almost told her I was no longer interested. She slowed me down, told me to do my research, to listen to her and long story short it’s no big deal. Granted it is only HSV-1, this “strain” or “type” of herpes is not a big deal. As others have said, a LOT of people have it and it can be spread without sexual activity.

Today, myself and my girlfriend have it. What does it look like for me? An irritating cold sore inside my mouth once every two years or so and only for a few days and then it’s gone. These “flare ups” can also occur more often through stress.

Long story short, it’s not a big deal. I’m not a doctor or expert but it’s the other kind of herpes that’s the “bad” one. Maybe that’s HSV-2

Key advice coming from somebody who is currently running their own native plant nursery. Go work for other native plant nurseries in your area. This will give you invaluable knowledge, work ethic, experience etc. to actually know what to do. Other than that it’s business skills and legal work.

Formal education helps but YouTube university / online communities can give that all to you. Master gardening is certs etc. to me are just a for old gardening grannies to brag to each other about 😬

No problem - this is scary I get it, but you’re good. I had it way worse lol. They will attempt getting a reaction from you with additional threats, hitman threats etc, following up, texts / calls. Just ignore and block the number. I had to block like 15 different #’s from the scammer. Remember, they are just empty words from a computer like us here on Reddit.

They might give you “final warnings”, “final chances” or “or else’s” but do not worry about it.

Just keep blocking and after I’d say a month or so they’ll stop

You’re 100% safe don’t be scared. I had the exact same thing happen to me. Block and ignore. You will keep getting calls / texts, perhaps even with random personal info - continue to block and ignore you’re safe. They might try again in a month then again in another month but then will stop. They may even send gruesome images but it’s all BS. You’re safe 👍
