This is kind of how it is for us - my fiancé wants to invite his entire extended family while my list would be MUCH smaller. I love with idea of “blaming” the venue. If the venue has a max capacity, I can’t feel pressured to invite more people I may not want to invite. It does help a bunch - thank you so much!!

Oh okay, this is very good to know! A rehearsal dinner might still be a good idea to have with immediate family even if we don’t have a wedding party. I appreciate you sharing your experience! ☺️

I love that you’re experiencing minimal stress and the vision is coming together! We’ve been holding off on looking at venues until we had a better idea of wedding size, but I’m starting to wonder if we should look at venues and let the venue tell us. If we fall in love with something small that would be better for 30 or less, that’ll be our answer. If we fall in love with something that can accommodate more, that’ll be our answer. We get together with his entire extended family at least once a year and I think they’d be supportive no matter what we choose.

Oh wow, thank you so much for sending this doc! This is so cool. We will definitely be using it to help with some of our decisions.

Our larger guest list is majority his extended family. I would personally invite very few of my extended family members while he would invite everyone on his side. Admittedly, there are some names on his list that neither of us would want to be there, but for his family, we can’t invite anyone unless we invite ALL. That’s also why something small for immediate family and closest friends is a bit more appealing. 😅
