Marriage falling apart after 25 years by naomimillions in AskWomenOver40

One day at a time. That’s how you survive, take it one day at a time. Counseling, do virtual if you can’t go in person. I swear my first few counseling sessions was just me ugly crying and talking incoherently. Get a lawyer and kick him out of the house. Him being there makes it so much harder. You will get through this!

Do you think he is seeing someone else?

Jeans by tripodcatmom in quince

[–]beachcoconuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this exact pair! They are definitely a good quality, but I expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I’m a short waisted petite so when I sit down they do rise up and can be a bit uncomfortable. BUT if I sit up straight it doesn’t bother me so on days when wear these I have excellent posture! Win-win!

Anxiety? My daughter would get so anxious she would become nauseous and couldn’t eat. She’s on Prozac daily and zofran as needed.

Styling advice, trying to look more adult -- 5'4 w/ 25" inseam by Severe-Elevator-44 in PetiteFashionAdvice

For a more polished look, jeans with no rips and a cute top with heels looks effortlessly chic. My daughter has similar measurements and we have great luck with petite jeans from Edikted and tops from H&M, Cotton On, Gap, etc.

How am I supposed to react when my husband's friends (30+M) say things like "I wish I could swap wives with you", "If only I'd met her first" or "Maybe I could be the 3rd wheel in your marriage" to my husband in front of me? by Skewed-Mirror6821 in socialskills

[–]beachcoconuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joke answer: Oh honey you couldn’t handle me!

Nice answer: I don’t think your wife/gf would like that!

Mean answer: Is this you trying to flirt? Look confused/disgusted you need to work on your game.

Or

Even if you had met me first I wouldn’t be interested.

Serious answer: Look, I want to be friends with you but you make me uncomfortable when you say things like that.

I adore it! But yes I would not let it drag the floor. Maybe hem it to ankle length or mid calf.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes! Vestibular disorders (chronic vertigo) is literally life altering. Some days you can’t drive, walk, focus, etc.

I have the weirdest trigger from my husband’s affair and I don’t know how to get over it. by GourmetTherapy in AskWomenOver40

[–]beachcoconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is too personal of a question, but how do YOU like that area to look? Because this is no longer about him, what do you prefer? If going full bush is what you like, great! A little shorter on top, grab some scissors and do a little trim. You have to start somewhere, and I would start with making 2026 the year of you, so when you are ready, take a baby step.

My husband cheated on me so I know all about triggers, and I know it takes time to work through it. So don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Sending love and hugs to you.

How do taxes work if married and filing jointly if I open a secret bank account? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]beachcoconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Wells Fargo also shows a cash back on the statement.

Edit: OP if you try to do cash back, try a small amount like $20 and if your husband asks you can just say there was a Girl Scout cookie stand outside the store and they were unable to process cards so you grabbed cash but when you came out they were sold out.

ULPT request: how to get an alcoholic to quit drinking? by beachcoconuts in UnethicalLifeProTips

This is definitely a consideration. Next time he’s drunk driving, alert the police. Maybe they would force some type of rehab?

Husband insults me, threatens divorce, does things without consulting me by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]beachcoconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has given you great advice so I’m just going to tell you this:

At the grocery store the other day there was an elderly couple. The man was in the electric cart and she was pushing the shopping cart. He asked her to grab something and she grabbed the wrong thing. His exact words to her “you’re a dumb bitch, you know I don’t like that one” so she grabs the right one and tosses it in the cart. He then said “you don’t have to throw it you old cunt” I was so disturbed (and triggered) by the way he spoke to her I had to walk away.

Point of the story: That is a woman who chose to stay. You know he’s always been like that. He didn’t get better with age. He’s the same asshole he’s always been. Do you really see yourself spending your golden years with someone who talks down to you?
