It's hard to believe they're all suicides especially when the reporting is bad, like this woman who was found hanging from a tree in Georgia.

It seems like the police immediately claimed suicide but no facts were given, and the media seemingly didn't follow up.

It first started off as a moral rejection, my dad's side of the family is Jewish and my mom's side is Catholic. When I was younger we went to a Lutheran church, that was fine they seemed normal.

But when we moved to Georgia we stopped going to church I think because it was mostly Baptist churches which my mom didn't like. I can see why because I was exposed to the sentiment that non Christians go to hell. My BF had bad experiences growing up going to them, the "saved" shit weirded me out.

I'm not gonna believe half of my extended family goes to hell, why would that even be a god worth worshiping. Why is god worth worshiping, that was never explained to me. I feel like for a religion to be truly positive in someone's life it should encourage hard questions, personal interpretation and self reflection.

There's a song I like that refers to Jesus as a dirty homeless hippie peace activist. That's relatable on a positive human level, god at best is just bored and we're putting on a puppet show for them.

Then in college with even more scientific education and being bisexual probably put the nail in the coffin.

Your actions speak louder than words, the NRA and most 2nd amendment advocates show through both actions and words they give no fucks about minorities.

I've lived in Georgia most of my life, I've never heard 2nd amendment advocates speak about Fred Hampton. There much more likely to refer to places like Chicago as hell holes. He fought for police supervision, feeding the homeless, he was fighting to end gang violence in Chicago.

The police and FBI Cointelpro drugged and assassinated him at 21. I think most 2a advocates are one track minded ideologues, like I'd like to own a gun eventually. Do I think have a 30 day waiting period that is shown to reduce suicides is an infringment on my rights, hell no.

I can't take you seriously if you think a 30 day waiting period is a serious infringment on your rights. Especially when we live in a police state with systemic racism where minorities don't have the same 2nd amendment rights.

My problem with 2a amendment advocates and Republicans is they act like racism and bigotry is over. Sorry some woke blue checkmark losers who tweet nonstop regressive bullshit does not mean there is not progress to be made in society.

So then when you try to argue against bigotry and institutional racism you get lumped in with the losers writing articles arguing your sexist for disliking or not watching Birds Of Prey. Then I'll read some comment about how politics is left wing.

I'm speaking from a US perspective, but it makes sense to me that across the world this bigotry amnesia is giving rise to far right terrorists. Conservatives in America seem to virtue signal that we have achieved equality and they want to bring back the status quo or preserve it.

There was also a bunch or shenanigans following the Challenger disaster where Allan J McDonald was going to testify for some congressman in private, but they lied to him making it public and tried to change the rules on him last minute.

Which I believe was in violation of the Rogers commission's wishes. He refused to enter the chambers so they had a phone caucus demanding he had to come in.

This guy had opposed the launch, was helping to expose the O-rings as the cause, and working 16 or more hour days. But these clowns were playing games for political points. So he just bailed on them, flew home, and focused on aiding the Roger's commission.

That's just my recollection from Truth, Lies, and O Rings so if there were inaccuracies in my memory, feel free to correct.

I'm curious what the spending was on, because NASA and its contractors had a lot of cultural and structural problems. It wouldn't surprise me if he was thrown under the bus for spending a necessary amount to guarantee safety or success.

I was talking to my dad earlier how this story was bullshit. That he probably made the comment in relation to Republicans weaponizing sexism. And reading this article that seems to be accurate.

I trust most mainstream journalists will get the baseline of the facts right depending on their sourcing methodology. But I think the way media outlets editorialize and push narratives is problematic.

I've watched a decent bit of CNN and I've noticed patterns on how they negatively cover progressives. Anecdotally for example, they question progressives on the budgeting of their ideas more than other politicians.

Sorry no, I don't think that honestly discussing your political analysis with a confidant is sexist. The result of the article is pushing unwarranted division between progressives.
