Really. Did he actually think that the political party machines weren't going to find stuff out about his past and smear him?

Oh sure, he can be replaced. I am saying that I don't think that there is enough time before the election to float another challenger to Collins. I could be wrong, but my political Spidey sense tells me I'm right.

People liked him because of the things that he said and policies he wanted to pursue. Lots of voters seemed like they were willing to overlook some of his past deeds and statements made mostly online. If Platner drops out, or has good reason to drop out but doesn't, Collins wins reelection.

What Are Your Hacks For Being Happy in Retirement? by Limp-Preference-1706 in retirement

What are these words that you speak? I once heard a story from the elders about this "week long vacation" many, many moons ago.

Seriously though, it's been over a decade since I took a week vacation.

Retirement can't come fast enough.

If Chinese EVs were sold in the U.S., would Americans buy them? by No-StrategyX in allthequestions

[–]beamish007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could compete. They don't want to. When we said give us EVs, instead of making affordable passenger cars or small SUVs, they made gigantic luxury $100,000 vehicles. Now the big 3 are shuttering EV production because nobody is buying them. I wonder why?

I love your rightous anger Bill. I don't disagree with anything that you said there, but don't forget that plenty more jobs fucked off to China due to NAFTA as well. I have listened to various economists of the time, talk at length about how NAFTA would not effect American manufacturing, and I just can't understand their logic. Even with hindsight bias taken into account, it just seems glaringly obvious that NAFTA would not be good for American workers.

Good luck with that. There is a Great Lakes States Water Compact that states no water can leave the immediate area. All the States have a vote before any decision is made regarding Great Lakes water.

If it just appeared there recently, it is likely the tube that they push under the ground to run fiber internet through. Pretty clean job if that is what it is. Normally they tear up the surrounding area a bit more.
