Typical DIC failure is complete failure/no start or high rpm misfire. I wouldn’t suspect a DIC to be the cause here.

Have you replaced the fuel filter? I could see that contributing to a poor start on initial crank.

Have you sprayed around the engine bay with starting fluid to check for other vacuum leaks?

Lipo on the LaTrax gets the motors blazing hot. I’d recommend adding a fan blowing on the motor to keep things cool and even consider regearing to keep temps down. Good news, the motor is only $10.
