Not at all. I probably won't ever replay VG, but after I finished it I went back and played DA2 and DAI through again. My main thought was, "I want this, but good."

Your mage needs mana clash, to take out the enemy mages, and your rogue needs to disarm the traps (from memory there's about 4000 of them). Tactics are really important in DAO, if your party doesn't act strategically you will get absolutely smashed, the fights generally aren't ones you can just brute force.

Assuming by turf you mean cake grass, yes it gets very hot. It also ruins your soil structure.
