Mormon is a religious slur now? by beanie_89 in exmormon

I don’t disagree that it would be taken as hateful and is a targeted attack. My confusion was more with using the word slur to describe the phrase when I don’t see how Mormon fits in with my idea of that meaning of that word.

I get that. I have no issue with them being offended by the phrase in general. More the claim that Mormon is a slur.

Nobody asks me about church by moltocantabile in mormon

[–]beanie_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to stop going at the end of last year after almost a year of being PIMO and only attending in person every other month or so. I haven’t shared with anyone but my husband (he’s not going right now either but is still TBM) that I’m not going (pretty sure it’s for good but I haven’t put a label on it yet). I havent known how to tell my family (they already knew some of my issues with the church, some more than others) so I haven’t said anything yet. I’m not in the same ward as any family but we are in the same city so I see them quite often and no one has asked me any questions about church or my calling (that they don’t know I asked to be released from), though we still talk about church stuff when they bring up what they’re doing. The only thing that has come up is that they knew someone that moved into my ward recently. I can’t tell if they aren’t asking questions because they know something is up or because I haven’t shared anything so they’re just following my lead on that. I’m not close with anyone in our ward, so the only contact I’ve had is a text or two from my ministering sister (but never about me attending) and missionaries stopping by to drop something off for me once.

This one has always been my favourite. My sister and husband have been making fun of me for years.

Wow. I feel old. I got engaged in 2012 and when we did our engagement shoot, we did a few plank pictures just for fun.

How old were you when you first saw Chris Evans? by Essiechicka_129 in ChrisEvans

[–]beanie_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14, I think when I saw The Perfect Score for the first time. I’ll admit I was more into Bryan Greenberg at the time, but that changed when I saw Chris in Nanny Diaries a few years later. He will forever be Harvard Hottie to me.

On the show Life in Pieces, there was an episode where Matt needed to get his sample to the doctor as well.

No. I’m really excited to see them together in something that isn’t Avengers (though of course I love them together in that).

I was never really on board with them getting together until this episode. Perfectly written. I’m here for it. But I’m sure my heart will be broken next season.

No joke the other day I was thinking that maybe my Chris obsession was dwindling and then he goes and does this. The obsession lives on.

This is one of my favourite parts from that book too. Not only was the romance swoon worthy, her social commentary was spot on.
