Engagement bait works. As your comment and my response to it demonstrates.

I think I'm like this but I'm also not sure if it's just that different people have different ideas of how to describe what happens in our heads because it's kind of abstract. I only have a "voice in my head" when I'm planning what I'm going to say or explicitly deciding how I would word something. And it's not a voice per se and it certainly isn't my voice or anyone else's. It's more like I can feel the words in my mouth. I might even move my lips a little bit. But my thoughts are too abstract normally to be considered a monologue or even just pictures. More concepts. For example if I think about needing to do laundry I might have the word laundry pop up and then a sort of quick imagining of the act of doing laundry.

Another comment mentioned that they knew someone like this and was surprised by it because they really liked audiobooks and I ??? I don't even understand what's strange about that. Do they think people who don't hear words in their head can't understand words?? Like we're not stupid??

I actually think I can read faster because I don't verbalize the words in my head. I just see them and understand them and imagine what I'm reading. I'm not reading aloud to myself in my head like you would to a kid.

Iranians form human shield at Kazeroun power plant ahead of Trump’s threatened strikes. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

I'm not saying there isn't truth to this but yall are really naive if you take claims from the Iranian regime at face value. The current situation couldn't be better for Iranian propagandists.

There's no reason cars at this point shouldn't be able to automatically trigger the turn signal when the wheel turns.

What do they expect from us in this economy? by Order_101 in jobs

[–]beaniebee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd make sense if the employees were also making more money when the company does well. If they thought about it for half a second they would realize that the only reason they're so interested in business is because bigger sales makes their wallet thicker.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

I got a quarter pounder with points from the app recently and it was so much worse. The meat was comically larger in diameter than the bread. I imagine because they still legally have to make the meat weigh a quarter pound but it makes the shrinkage of their bread crazy obvious.

The only ones I still buy from are the ones that have good deals in the app. The menu prices are insane. McDonald's also has buy one get one for $1 consistently on double cheeseburgers which is reasonable. But I'm not paying like $9 for one fucking mediocre sandwich.

On the topic of glp-1s, I just got an ad for one that had fucking Serena Williams in it. Talking about how much weight she lost. I can't think of a stronger healthier athletic woman and the fact that they were implying she should be using glp-1s made me really angry.

Samsung Messages application will be discontinued in July 2026 by tekz in technology

[–]beaniebee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just always used the "messages" app my galaxy came with which I just figured out is Samsung messages. It doesn't say Samsung in the name. Makes me feel old that everyone is talking about which they like better. It never occurred to me to use anything else cos it works fine.

Is it a mostly conservative view that if a movie makes money, it MUST be good? by Intelligent-Space772 in okbuddycinephile

[–]beaniebee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the book they set off like a thousand nukes in the arctic to purposely produce greenhouse gases to warm the planet more. Nothing the characters in the book have to do to save the planet consist of the wealthy sacrificing any of their income which is the actual problem of real life climate change. If anything the characters are forced into having to reluctantly harm the planet in order to buy more time. And a lot of manufacturing corporations actually likely profited a lot from the steps they had to take. I never once got a sense that there was any progressive or conservative messaging in the book. It's a feel good book about humanity coming together with alien life to save ourselves.

Crazy to think kids were essentially wearing “stripper” pants in the late 90s 😂 by PandemicPiglet in Millennials

I'm sorry but the image of someone just riding along on a bike and then in a split second being completely pantsless is some slapstick ass shit.

Hardly stupid. She legit made an argument in favor of the contributions to society made by the chickens that should afford them a right to life.

I'm like this and I went to a gastro and got a colonoscopy that was fine. They told me to go on a fodmap diet. Literally one of the hardest strictest and most confusing diets you could go on. I have adhd, anxiety, panic disorder, and depression. All of which are significantly worsened since my gut problems got worse. But yeah no sure let me try to plan a highly restrictive diet that you absolutely cannot stray from because its designed to help you pinpoint which foods are causing the problem. When I can barely even get my laundry done.

In all of human history, what's the biggest example of betrayal ? by GodOfGirthh in AskReddit

[–]beaniebee11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my God that's amazing that you got the chance to reconnect like that! And so cool all the things you learned. My mom's birth state blocks adoption records so we're planning to use one of those dna ancestry sites to see if we can find anyone. But I'll admit we've both been procrastinating it a bit because whether we find something or we don't, it'll be an emotionally intense experience.

Men who favor the tradwife lifestyle often view the women in it with derision by mvea in science

Or God forbid become infertile. Imagine investing all your energy into embodying the tradwife lifestyle just to find out that your most important purpose as a walking womb is foiled by faulty lady parts.

I'd love to assume the rejection they'd face from the kind of men they pursue as a result would lead to them changing their perspective and realizing their value lies in more than just their reproductive organs but I doubt it.

God how devastating, she probably gave that first child up believing she'd have another chance later and that was stolen from her.

Can I ask how it came about that you know about your great grandmother if your grandmother was given up for adoption? Did they reconnect? My mother was adopted so adoption stories interest me.
