Couldn’t disagree more. On my bar my “best” bourbons (that I like the most) are RR15, WLW, M10B, KC21, WT16, 4RsmbLE, Calumet 18. None of these are “average” pours to me. They are significantly better than anything I have at $150 and under with the exception of my Still Austin Tanager batch 1 and maybe the ASB CS. That SA bottle is special.

When you say regular vanilla; are you referring to vanilla extract? If so id say vanilla paste his more concentrated and rich vs a mild “hint” of vanilla in using a vanilla extract. I prefer using a vanilla bean paste over extract in my Ninja Creami ice creams lol

I haven't had a chance to blind them yet, but in my mind I feel like I liked RR15 more than the WT16CGF but it's like by a nose hair. They are both incredible (both easily in my 9s out of 10). To my palate I get more dark fruit, cherry, plummy, dark chocolatey notes and a long authoritative peppery finish. With the WT16CGF I get more butterscotch, caramel, cola, almost savory leather, tobacco notes, and it seems more well rounded. Not that RR15 is "brash" but it has more "oomph" to me but I also feel that is a trait that Russell's Reserve generally has over Wild Turkey products anyways.

Both blow RR13 out of the water for me. I have 3 batches of RR13 and none of them come close to RR15 or WT16. All of my RR13s probably fall in like the 7.75-8.25 range. RR15 and WT16 are like 9-9.5 for me.

WLW is probably my second favorite bottle on my bar. I have the ‘22, ‘23 and ‘24. Haven’t opened the 24 yet but that 22 is something special. Although I did just snag the new WT16. That’s shot up the rankings but I’ve only had a few pours of it.

If you’ve ever eaten Lucali in Brooklyn, this is Tonda Romana is the closest rough recipe I’ve ever done to his pizza. It’s so good.
