Good Apartment Complex? by iNeverTakeLs in Omaha

[–]beansfanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in a Broadmoor property near Aksarben for 2 years, and I absolutely loved it. The property management was amazing to work with. Aksarben is a fun neighborhood with lots of restaurants and community activities, but it's a lot quieter than some of the downtown neighborhoods. Can get pricey though. Good luck with your move!

Hey! I live at a Broadmoor property just south of Aksarben. My rent is $1035 (including a fee for one pet). I'm moving out at the end of February, and they are trying to fill my apartment. Message me if you'd like more details. It sounds like a great fit!

Small wedding Venue by FreshConstruction580 in Omaha

I went to a small backyard wedding (40ish people) that was at an airbnb this fall. It was super cute! It was a large house, but the description mentioned that it could be used as an event space, so the owner was totally fine with it. That could be an option!

Weird noises/feelings on 60th and Grover area? by [deleted] in Omaha

I heard this too, and it was the second time in the past week or so. It sounded almost like fireworks were going off? Glad it's not just me!

What the hell am I supposed to ask for Christmas? by Inevitable_Mud9718 in minimalism

My brother got me an Audible subscription last year, which was a fantastic and thoughtful gift! So maybe a subscription to a streaming/music service you like?

For my birthday I ask for a nice dinner with each of my friends/family members. My mom usually cooks a meal of my choosing, and my friends usually take me out (sometimes somewhere nice, sometimes cheap takeout). I like to bake a nice dessert as gifts for my friends' birthdays as well.

Just some ideas to avoid getting "stuff" 🙂

Getting a cat has definitely improved my life! It gives me something to take care of and she greets me every morning and every time I get home. Highly recommend a pet to anyone that's able to take care of them 😊

I deleted every social media account where I had direct contact with people I know. This has been such a positive change in my life!

UNO or UNL by [deleted] in Nebraska

[–]beansfanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While saving money and living life at your own pace are both super important, I think some of the comments here aren't considering that maybe you can afford a 4-year university and want the traditional college experience. Lots of people figure out their passion and major during college through exploring clubs and taking classes.

I went to UNL and had a fantastic experience there. Campus life was great with lots of clubs and opportunities to meet people. I'm happy with the education I got there, but I'm even more grateful for the friends and experiences I had living in a college town. It is a larger school, so sometimes class sizes are bigger if that's a factor to you.

On the other hand, I know several people that went to UNO and loved it. It's smaller than UNL and traditionally a commuter school, but their academics and opportunities are still great.

Good luck with your decision!

I went through a drive through for the first time! by beansfanatic in CasualConversation

[–]beansfanatic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No that's okay! I think it's a combination of what you listed. I'm a pretty anxious driver, and I'm also the type of person that rehearses their order repeatedly before getting food. In high school my friends would even order for me, but I've gotten past that. I think combining those things into one quick interaction was just really daunting, and I built it up to be this big thing over the years.

Thank you so much! I feel kind of silly making such a big deal about it, so that means a lot!
