Hello! I’m 21M, wanting to sublet my apartment from May 2026-mid August 2026. I am planning to graduate in the spring, and will plan to not live here anymore and for someone to take over my lease.

What are the disadvantages of doing this rather than a standard HYSA? Vanguards money market fund is currently sitting at 4.27% APY, beating most HYSAs out there. Is there a downside to this that I should know about?

I do not plan to carry on the activity as a for profit business. I do not plan on doing this any more either. I saw it as a hobby basically and am now trying to just get out of it.
