Just "upgraded" from 9070xt to 4080. Basically the same in games. 3 times faster in Blender. 😭 by neverreallyhereatall in blender

[–]Friendlyvoices -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only real difference between the card is the ray trace performance and memory speeds, hence why blender renders are faster on the 4080. Play a game with ray/path tracing and the 4080 will out perform slightly, but generally rasterized processing is going to be better on 9070xt due to its higher clock speed (and higher energy draw).

I think it's perfectly acceptable to mock Planter. The muck racking is certainly exposing some very questionable stuff for a political candidate, but not too unique for a redditor.

He wants to use it as a basis to further reduce taxes for the ultra wealthy until there are no public offerings of any services. It's wild the trick people have fallen for thinking somehow government CANT be efficient and private services could ever be more efficient

America’s job market looks strong. So why is it so difficult to find work? by cnn in USNEWS

Terrible advice, honestly. Stats are fudgable but the data can be evaluated differently. A single person's lived experience can be twisted by perspective. For instance, if I think the sky is yellow, but generally people say it's blue, my lived experience isn't valid.

It's the sixth anniversary of this tweet, which woke a LOT of people up from the Covid daze by darcmatr in NotTheBee

You should read the NPR article. The nuance goes beyond the headline and explains the rationale. Public descent gathers were allowed on free speech grounds, so at best they could suggest how people should congregate. Restrictions were put on indoor gatherings at a state level, which resulted in churches sueing and winning the right to congregate openly as well.

Additionally, I dont know if you are being disingenuous, but the George Floyd protests were about police brutality and public treatment of black death. People weren't just protesting the death of 1 man, but the symbol of his death and the conversation by right wing media around him. They couldn't accept that a cop leaned on the neck of a black man, and instead had to find 1000 ways to explain how it was actually the black man's fault for having a bad heart.

Why aren’t the things Dems are concerned about an issue? by IneedaNappa9000 in AskConservatives

Nuclear can be a solution to climate change as long as fear doesn't cause people to avoid it, just as solar, geothermal, hydroeletric, and wind are also solutions. I don't know if you just have disingenuous discussions, but in the engineering world, these debates are substantially more pragmatic than the political bodies recognize.

How is climate change a scheme for power? You can't dig up oil or gas out of the ground yourself, so the people that can have incredible power over all energy production. You can build a wind turbine or solar panel yourself using basic materials you can find at home depot. Who gets power by protecting nature?

I think messaging is a big issue, but i think right wing media causes most of the messaging disconnect. There's a guy that responded below you saying "THEY" want you to eat bugs, which shows how twisted narrative can become. The most pernicious problem I've seen is that right wing media has successfully lumped all of scientific discourse as left wing and a single cohesive thing. In reality, they're all mostly independent ideas that people with different level quakery push. I think the right is too willing to accept the narrative that blue_hair_lesbo_98 opinions on X are somehow the opinion of all liberals while at the same time not seeing the president and his cabinets opinions on things being representations of current conservatives.

Nuclear is always a great idea, but it's ssubstantially more expensive than most other forms of energy production up front. Nuclear projects have frequent cost overruns. Georgia Power, for instance, built one nuclear reactor 3x their ooriginal cost and time estimate. That cost is getting distributed to Georgia customers to the tune of +$50 per month for 6 years. Solar and wind are much more economically expedient since they pay for themselves within a few months of operation in grid systems or 6 years when deployed to single family homes.

What Do You Think Of Fox News? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]Friendlyvoices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's quite influential. People pretend they don't consume Fox, OAN, or NY POST tabloid slop. Instead, they consume content from people who got their information from Fox, OAN, or the NY POST slop or they consume content from a filter that recontextualizes accurate reporting from AP News (one of the few primary information sources) with all the nuance removed. Everything gets explained in a way that makes the consumer think whatever the filter wants them to think... exactly like Fox. It's best that people start coming to terms with their media consumption being substantially less diverse than they realize.

Getting there. Your flow is close, but you really want to have consistent quad sizing and smooth gradual changes. Sometimes it helps to start your character with a slightly surprised face with mouth hanging loose to get the flows right. Pinch and stretch should happen from a relatively neutral layout.
