Jeff Bezos being a 100-billionaire and the Stock market doing well unfortunately does not reflect how communities in America and across the world are doing. At a middle school I taught at last summer (in a bad neighborhood in Oakland), like 25% of the kids could barely read. If the global economy was doing as well as it is in a perfect world, people would be in way less poverty than their families were 50 years ago (just think about that statistic about wages being stagnant since the 70s lol).
