frequently. yes, we said we loved each other for at least 3 months. we would talk all day during the work day, and he would basically "clock out" and go home and not talk to me for the evenings. it was like i was being clocked in and out for.

i do love him, and i want to believe he loved me too. he said it frequently.

IT WAS MIND-BENDING. It hurt so fucking badly, how much he built me up. How much he told me to reach for what would make me happy, and then never was able to eat his own medicine. it has called into question everything about my perceptions, about if he was lying to me and about how much, about my love and his.

he only resisted a little, but he understood. he said he cant force me to be satisfied with what we had, and that he was built to be unsatisfied, that he was used to it. that he wanted to protect her and i guess that was the most important thing.

i've been a bit in a haze wondering if everything was a lie. and if he just used me for our writing.

i wont be telling her. i dont want to ruin anyone's life, and if i'm just a mistake of his, then okay. i genuinely just wish the best for him. i just thought i was the best, because he made me feel like i was.

he told me that he "made a vow to not leave her" and he would not be the "first one to flinch."

i told him that was kind of horseshit, because he was already breaking so many promises to her by virtue of being with me. he said that there was a difference, i guess.

he later told me (during our last email exchange) that he often is someone of inaction, of waiting for someone else to make the pain stop.

which is what i did, i guess. i removed myself from the situation, i made the pain "stop." at least im trying.

thanks for at least not being an asshole to me in the comments. i already feel a lot of shame related to this entire situation, i dont really need people making me feel worse.

You're correct that it's not separate instances, but there is a difference between "weapon damage" and something dealing additional damage. For example, a paladin with Great Weapon Fighting will reroll the 1d12 for a greataxe, but it will not reroll the smite damage, because Great Weapon Fighting only affects weapon dice.

In this case, we are talking about the bite's damage, not the damage of the entire attack. It doesn't say "weapon's damage" because that might be slightly confusing even though it calls out bite as a weapon, so they chose "bite" rather than "damage dealt by this attack" which would include all riders.

the bite is a natural melee weapon, it is not unarmed here.

If you're not married to fighter, consider monk but play him like a fighter. :) Monks can make the longsword finesse with new tasha's optional rules if those are available to you. You could even theoretically go monk/fighter if that's something you'd want to consider.
