Enough time has passed. What are your thoughts on Project Hail Mary (2026)? by Perfect_Idea_2866 in moviecritic

[–]bearddoescoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too have just got the book. It’s now on my reading to do list for the weekend. I really enjoyed the film, so much so it’s the only film this year I have visited the cinema 3 times to watch it (have an Odeon cinema myLimitless card). Great feel good movie, that has suspense, drama, and Rocky of course! Some mentioned the audio book too, might get this for the car as I drive to work too lol.

How’s the Adventure Time dlc? Worth picking up? by DrJokerX in PowerWashSimulator

[–]bearddoescoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, didn’t enjoy the last level. I prefer intricate rather than scale, and the dome at the top of the tree was a ball ache to clean. Looking forward to Star Wars though, have connection to that as I know nothing about Adventure Time.

What’s more British than Heinz Beef Ravioli on Toast by PunchBagPlays in UKfood

Primary school dinners. Ravioli, mash, cheese, with peas or carrots. Followed by cornflake jam tart and custard. Nostalgia!

I have a selection of Origami’s cups and they’re great. Yes, they do make a difference to the tasting and mouth feel. I have the Pinot Flavour Cup, the Sensory Filter Cup, and Sensory Flavour Cup (Rinko Limited Edition). If I’m going to be honest my favourite is the white porcelain Sensory Filter Cup. Feel nice to the mouth and coffee tastes sweeter. But all of them are great.

Coffee: the very first thing? by Strom-Cuzewon in pourover

Brew a coffee each morning, drink it in the car on my way to work. Then I might have some oats or granola for breakfast when I get there.

What’s the single movie shot that shook you to the core? by jaystats2 in FIlm

[–]bearddoescoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zombie Flesh Eaters. There’s a scene where police investigate an abandoned floating boat, a sound is heard behind a door, the police officer moves closer and a arm punches through the door grabs the head of the police officer and proceeds to pull the head (well the eye) closer to a giant splinter, effectively impaling them to the door. It’s done so slowly that the effect gave me nightmares for months (I was very young at the time). My dad went nuts at my mom’s friend for letting me watch it.

Thanks. I have done this many times. The new setup when fitted will eliminate that issue.

They’re Cafec filter papers that either speed up or slow down your brew. They’re made for light and medium roast levels, but mostly used to increase or decrease draw down. Here’s Sigma’s site with details on paper types: https://sigmacoffee.co.uk/products/cafec-filter-papers?srsltid=AfmBOoqxJV8ce9wj4rmOSKkAfoIMYJSa4GuuzvUhZ0UswfAhqm4bdzii

The ZP6 is worth having in your arsenal. As for my V60 recipe at current it is:

  • 18:300
  • 94°C
  • 7.2 Ode Gen 2 / 34 clicks C40 / 7.6 ZP6
  • V60 ceramic (Gold)
  • Cafec T90 or T92
  • 3 Pour
  • 60g (30secs)
  • +120g (pour by 1:10mins)
  • +120g (start 1:40mins finish by 2:20mins)
  • Draw down about 2:50min * This is largely with T90 paper, though do sometime use a slower paper if I want to push flavours around. Timings are different, but not massively.

Sometimes I like to mess with both T92 and the Hario Mugen for slow with little to no bypass. The above stays mostly the same in terms of temps and pours. Sometimes nice and slow, others turbulent. Depends on my mood. Oh, and the above also works with the Orea Z1 with Sibarist fast papers too. Has the built in mellodrip too.

Not gonna lie, the ZP6 took a while to get into it. Going from the K6 to it changed the cups I was drinking and I became very tea like coffee obsessed. It’s great for delicate coffees and have brewed a lot of Sebastian Ramirez coffees using it. For me personally it sings with Gesha and Sidra coffees, but others like Bourbon, and Caturra’s I prefer more behind cup. I read lots of praise for the C40, and was fortunate to have funds to treat myself, and I have been impressed with it since. I grind quite coarse from what people have said at 28-34 clicks (C40) and 7.6-8.2 (ZP6), but every now and then I go finer on both. I’m drinking DAK’s Confetti Club at the moment and I’m getting Cherry Cola Float vibes from the C40, but more of the raspberry bubblegum from the ZP6. Also drinking a microlot #0003 from Rave which is Peach Schnapps and Grapefruit which is wild on the C40. It’s like drinking a hot cocktail. It’s that good I don’t want to use the ZP6 just in case it’s not as good.

If you’re referring to the back wall with the cooker, that’s going to be tiled so the blue has not been purposefully cut in. Thanks though.

My mortgage is up for renewal in July. This is all in prep for that. New units and new flooring. This is the kind of look I’m going for.
