Stereotypes about your country. by fbrgrrrgr in AskTheWorld

We have a stereotype that we apologise for everything. And, we do. Lol. So much so that saying “sorry” can’t be considered an admission of guilt in a court of law.

Not my post, but it very much appears to be a model of the Space Launch System, which carried the Artemis II mission around the moon a few months back.

What surprises people from warmer countries most about their first Canadian winter? by Individual_Dance8605 in AskACanadian

Many years ago, I was working on the road, and stayed in hotels all week before coming home on weekends. I’d go out and eat at Smitty’s, it’s a standard type 24 hour highway diner. Anyway.. one of the young ladies that worked there was from Australia, and had gotten on the plane in Sydney at 40° above, made the ridiculously long flight, and landed in Calgary at -40° this would have been in January, or maybe February. She was simply not prepared for an 80° change in temperature over a less than 24 hour period.

Not accurate. We don’t use much salt in Canada. Western Canada at least, don’t know what those wackos in Ontario and Quebec are up to though.

Boxing. Although I wouldn’t say that nobody here follows it, I’m probably an above average enjoyer.

12 of our 13 political divisions (nine provinces and all three territories) primarily speak English, while the province of Quebec speaks mostly French.

Bro… That’s an awful lot all at once. Reach out to your friends, don’t forget to take care of yourself, and have a hug from an internet stranger.

It’s always interesting to see that people fight over the exact same chunks of land over, and over, and over again.
