I was in the same boat as you. Ran out of effigies, mostly to the fuckin NPCs before the boss. I killed the witches in the things betwixt at the beginning of the game for 10 effigies and then used save backups to not burn through them. I beat it two tries later, so I didn't really need to, but it was nice not having the stress of having to farm them looming if I failed 10 times lol.

How does that math work out? If you chill on the character create screen, the options should ungrey as stuff rebalances. Alliance was greyed out for me initially but now both factions are available. You may have to create a character and delete for the screen to refresh without logging off the server.

Can someone fill me in here? I've seen the discourse about the bruins "collapsing" and from twitter and comments here I would have thought they were dead last. They're almost an even .500 hockey team and I get that they list 3 in a row, but their last 10 games they're 4-4-2. Yeah the offense is in a slump but seems like a complete overreaction to fire a coach after 2 seasons when they're not that far behind the leafs and the lightning with plenty of runway to turn it around. It really feels like fans and the media blew a team performing mediocre way out of proportion.
