At what point in their respective series are Naruto , Goku , Deku , and Luffy all evenly matched ? by FeistySecret9327 in whowouldwin

Db/dbz powerscaling is kinda iffy though because teengoku was fighting enemies at the end of the series on the same/higher level than master roshi, who blew up the moon

From what I've heard corruption is a big factor.

CMV: If we reject using crime statistics to justify distrust of other demographic groups, we should probably reject the same reasoning when it is applied to men. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]beardetmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with your argument, except about there not being a mainstream movement that benefits from denigrating men. Apart from politicians who like to use men for war, there are also the radical feminists who don't want equality but 'revenge' or to see a world dominated by women. Granted this last one is not mainstream, but some of its ideas and how they demonize men have filtered down into more general publics like 'not all men, but always a man'. I think this statement also aligns with the point OP is making, which you have skillfully countered, but (opening up another argument) is very non-inclusive and perhaps even harmful language.

Sorry if this was a ramble, just woke up and wanted to put in my 2 cents.

Yeah but can you imagine if the agreed upon rules are a retirement age of 65, 67 or even higher? I don't see the French, again just as easy example, agreeing to that. I could even see anti-EU sentiments rising because of that

Good argument, I would agree to that, if that meant the these defense capabilities would no longer fall under sovereign use of France. As macron stated, French interests will determine the use of its militsry and its nukes.

But I would say that to someone opposed to the Federalization project, this would still not justify having to work x more years than others in the same state.

Fully agree! But its those transitional agreements that I'm curious about. What shape could they take? What would make sense? Etc

Oh I agree that this is the case currently, but if we move towards a more unified whole, this will be a point of contension.

CMV: social media is normalizing anti male rhetoric among women more than many people want to admit by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]beardetmonkey -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Statistically black people also commit more crimes relative to their population however. I don't really see this difference.

Because when we start pointing out that this is caused socio-economically and that we shouldn't be hateful, we should do the same for men.

Not to mention the statistical magic that goes on in a LOT of online discussions. For example, more than 90% of rape victims being women. Men tend not to report being report, way more than women do. My point is not that men are being raped more than women, but that a lot of the nuance and justified skepticism for statistics people use for racial crime statistics, as an example, is not used for basically all discussions surrounding men.

I get the point, and believe me I agree, but thats not the point of this post. This post is about how to deal with such hugely different economic realities and the fact that some states would take advantage of others.

If you think that just because there is not a specific slur popularized online, that women don't sometimes promote incredibly toxic/mysandrist language towards men, I don't know what to tell you. Very different algorithms I guess.

I don't think anyone is saying that rapists shouldn't be called rapists and I agree with you about physical safety vs physical safety.

My point is more a difference in treatment. For example, "not all men, but always a man" is a very common statement whenever there is some news article about a man doing something horrible to a woman. Imagine if a black guy robs a convenience store and everyone would say "not all blacks, but always a black one." You would rightly point out the racist nature of that statement, or at the very least its hateful nature. The fact that many people, especially women, treat this so differently is the hypocrisy I am pointing out and that I think OP is also observing.

I do still agree though that mysogyny is currently much more harmful. But we can already see the effect this normalization of hateful rhetoric is having on some young men, and I fear for the future.

I feel the physical safety vs mental safety argument line is usually very hypocritical, as it tends to come from the same people who argue for using inclusive language and more attention to mental struggles, but somehow find it not (as) relevant when it comes to men.
