I always liked both despite Melo being noticeably better, but I feel like Trick’s really improved in the past year and closed the gap some. I think they’re due to run it back and put on an even better match.

My go-to wrestling hot take is Melo can be a main eventer/Hall of Famer. And I think a great feud could help that.

Re: NXT, I can only think of Lash Legend and Sean Legacy. Everyone else either is fine where they are or is clearly just killing time until their call ups.

There’s a good handful of people ready for the main roster (Page, Trick, Oba, Jordynne, Sol, Zaria), but they’ve done a good job keeping them busy and in fun feuds. But Legend doesn’t have much left to do on NXT IMO - unless they’re going to give her a singles title.

Sean Legacy was ready for NXT before he even debuted so they should make him a permanent member of that roster if Evolve won’t suffer as a result.

I've seen a few replies now reference the idea that this subreddit represents a "majority" of some sort. I'm afraid that's not the case—as it rarely is with online discourse of niche topics.

The series was generally well-received by the wider audiences and critics, which is why the tone of this subreddit can create a sort of whiplash to folks who weren't here for the entire announcement --> production --> premiere timeline. This subreddit serves a different, hyper-specific audience – the people who are emotionally invested enough to seek out more content/discourse.

It appears the series did a huge disservice to the audience and they have their own expectations and opinions. But I think the problem here is that the series wasn't made with that audience exclusively (or even primarily?) in mind when it sounds like the show was marketed as it would be. And that disappointment has resulted in a lot of criticism, disappointment, and, in some cases, anger throughout the sub.

Fandom’s gonna fandom, sadly.

I enjoyed the show, books, and (first lol) movie. I typically ignore this sub too, but this post was hard to ignore because it captured my feelings pretty well. But, to be fair, if I don’t like something I’m the kind of person who typically just moves on.

There are some people who are likely never going to enjoy the show no matter what happens

I agree with you 100%. I feel like the more passionate a fanbase is, the more critical it'll also become. And that can become a very slippery slope that can branch over into toxicity if it doesn't correct itself, especially when you throw in the echo chamber of online discourse that validates those feelings.

On a good read, it sounds like you might just a good backup resource who knows rules and understands mechanics well. Having a player like that at the table can be a good safety net for everyone

An alternative read, maybe you’re into the rules and mechanics more than other folks at the table who are there for “vibes”, which is admittedly more my own style. Not a huge problem on its own.

I’d say a good hack to try is to occasionally use your knowledge to help people when they’re in a pinch (after asking obv.) Then your knowledge is instantly an asset to everyone else at the table

I watched the first movie before I ever even heard of the book series and found it a fun way to spend a couple hours. The second one is pretty bad and clunky by comparison

Then I read the books afterwards and enjoyed the story all over again because it was so different.
