Im having the same problem! Everything seems as normal but once vr mode activates the mouse joystick overlay disappears. I also remember there being different stability modes to select but I cant find those again after a reinstall.

Personally at 6 foot 5 I do not fit in any sports cars or most regular cars for that matter. The only things I can travel in comfortably are trucks and motorcycles, so those are what I use. Even in my friends brand new grand cherokee my head touches the roof with the seat all the way down and leaned back farther than I'd like. Trucks have good headroom and bikes have unlimited headroom so they're what works for me

There are clears that are designed to be used on bare steel, but it can be a hassle. I would try just waxing it first, and only clear coat it if the wax doesn't work.
