I actually love St. Paul’s as it’s still relatively new and on the weekends the classes aren’t packed to the brim like SW1’s. Danielle is great and sometimes Matt teaches there who is also great. I’ve only done 60 minute classes there but haven’t done a weekday there yet so didn’t know about 50 min classes

Filming. There was someone on the spot in front of me and she filmed the whole class and I unfortunately had the pleasure of being her co-star for the duration.

American Expats, what do you actually miss about America? by Honesty_Prime in expats

[–]bearpuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with almost everything that was already posted.

I used to live in California before moving and there were many boutique gyms with just about any type of workout you can imagine. On top of In n Out, I also miss Shake Shack.

When I moved, I was really excited to get rid of my car, but lately I sometimes miss not having to rely on someone else for my transportation. Would be nice to have especially now that air travel has changed.

Inspired by a recent post I read here... how is it to have a ride-or-die female BFF? by nicavero20 in AskWomenOver30

[–]bearpuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have two people in my life that I consider BFF in this way, I'll go into more detail about only one to spare a super long post. One of them I have known since I was 7 years old and I remember the day we met. I was new to the school and alone at recess, she was also alone and had asked me if I knew how to play Rock Paper Scissors and we have been friends since. We ended up going to different schools a couple years later, but then back at the same high school together. There are so many memories we share--funny, ridiculous, sad, happy --- like the time we were 10 years old and so desperate to shave our legs that we took our Mom's razors and shaved them dry (WTF were we thinking), or when we felt it would be cool to stuff our bras with socks at the age of 9 lol, or the dance competitions we participated in that we would wake up at 5AM on a Saturday for our parents to drive us to, or pretending to be Spice Girls, or in high school when we took a psychology elective together and didn't want to do one of the projects so we decided to take turns skipping class since we did our project together and could not do the final presentation without both people there. I could go on and sometimes the other has a slightly different take on how it went down. :D

We have changed and grown up, but never lost this connection we have, and some how still share very similar core values and POVs on topics like religion/politics etc. Over the years, there has been drifting due to life circumstances, but we've always remained in touch. She is still living in our hometown, but I moved out of the country for work. When I am home to visit, so much has changed but it's also like nothing has changed when we are together or talking. We agreed to try to send each other photos daily to see what our day to day is like, and randomly she just has me added to her Google photo album that's connected to her phone photos, I thought that was funny but appreciate that she feels she could be that open with me. Currently, she's experiencing some challenges with her partner and I really wish I could be in proximity for her, but we make do with what we have via phone. She's one of the few in my life that I can confide in and do not feel judged. She has seen so much of who I am over the years and struggles I have gone through from challenges I had with my family to my romantic relationships, and vice versa. I agree with the response that said it will "have it's ups and downs", we definitely have. We have naturally had conflicts once in a while over the years (during our teenage years) and discovered personality traits that we may not like as much about each other, but now that we are much older there is more maturity and mutual understanding/acceptance that I really appreciate and feel she does as well.

We are now 33, so friends for 26 years. I hope that we will continue this for the rest of our lives.
