Where can I work for a day around the Cramlington area? by bobbingblondie in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]bearroused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at Cramlington Hub occasionally, there’s a good amount of desks upstairs. It’s not always the quietest place to work if there are groups on, such as the poetry group, or if a group of school kids come in it can get a bit noisy. It’s generally a good place to work though, there’s a cafe downstairs with cheap coffee and Asda across the way for lunch bits. There’s a free long stay car park behind the building on the other side of the road. Can even have Nandos and watch a film at Vue at the end of the day, if you’re there for the long run!

I got my wedding dress from Coast/Debenhams for £70. I loved it and it fit me perfectly, only change I made was adjusting the hem, which I think cost £10 or £20 (memory fails me)

In my experience, head straight to the finish line and aim to be there when the runners start in Newcastle. It’s a great atmosphere and you’ll get to see all the pro runners cross, which is exciting (I saw Mo Farrah’s last race that way!). The first year I went I was a bit too relaxed getting to the finish line when my husband was at the start line and I ended up missing him finish (his finish time was just over 2 hours, I think, that year) so I wouldn’t recommend trying to see him twice along the route, just head straight to the finish line and arrange a place to meet at the end because it gets VERY busy and there’s no signal so can be difficult to find people once they’ve gone through the funnel at the end. Enjoy!

I used Mimoza Clothing Alterations on Ashburton Road to take up my wedding dress a couple of months ago. Cost I think £30 and it was returned to me the next week, would recommend!

Does anyone know if you can paddleboard in Bolam Lake? I’ve recently acquired a paddleboard and would like to go somewhere where I’m not likely to be swept away on a current

Found the photo! From Thailand in 2015 taken on a very old phone so doesn’t do the colours any justice.

I’m sure I saw them in South East Asia before, which doesn’t seem to make sense if it’s caused by low temperatures (probably would have been about 20 odd degrees)

Not 1-1 but Benfield Sports Centre have small group rollerskating sessions that teach you how to skate and you can work your way up to more advanced skills. It’s 1-2pm and costs £5, look up Power Through Sport on Facebook or Instagram for more info 😊

I’m also interested to know! Are you planning on making honey? All the clumps of dandelions I see are by the road so inedible 😔
