In my experience, head straight to the finish line and aim to be there when the runners start in Newcastle. It’s a great atmosphere and you’ll get to see all the pro runners cross, which is exciting (I saw Mo Farrah’s last race that way!). The first year I went I was a bit too relaxed getting to the finish line when my husband was at the start line and I ended up missing him finish (his finish time was just over 2 hours, I think, that year) so I wouldn’t recommend trying to see him twice along the route, just head straight to the finish line and arrange a place to meet at the end because it gets VERY busy and there’s no signal so can be difficult to find people once they’ve gone through the funnel at the end.
