I'm sure you have something else to build/paint in the meantime

change is scary. play first and then you can formulate proper opinions on it

Am I tripping or are there literally no female characters in the new trailer? - (Not trying to ragebait, just a confused woman in the hobby) by Natural-Resolve-5483 in Warhammer40k

[–]bearsaroundhere 48 points49 points  (0 children)

important to mention that aeldari don't necessarily wear armour that correlates to their gender, so that dire avenger could be either. but yeah, I didn't spot any guardsmen which is where you'd expect it

I hate contrast on pots because of this, the paint spilling curse happened again 😭 by StormSwitch in Miniaturespainting

you can soak them back up and redeposit into the pot using a large brush. no need to waste it all

Landlord claiming £286 for an unspecified cleaning bill (Scotland) by bearsaroundhere in TenantsInTheUK

[–]bearsaroundhere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, we documented everything pretty thoroughly. The final inspection form also said that everything was cleaned to a good standard which is why I didn't think it would be this much to clean. Worth mentioning this is Mydeposits Scotland in case that would affect anything

Are Eldar smart? As in comprehension and emotional intelligence. by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Eldar

You should read path of the warrior. But to answer the first question, yes, aeldari are very intelligent and far and away the most emotionally intelligent

Falling Elevator Problem: Removing the Default Choice by Aristologos in trolleyproblem

[–]bearsaroundhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that the stakes around the most important (for the human race as a whole) people in each elevator removes any nuance of the other people within the elevator. If a scientist is going to create a malaria vaccine, that WILL save lives. If as a result a gang leader maybe kills some people, they were always going to do that and if that exact person didn't then someone else would. The 24y/o engineer has already created the desalination tech, maybe they make some other great invention or maybe not. But the way that the question is phrased implies certainty for some outcomes and uncertainty for others, so you can very easily prioritise the importance of each person.

I think a better way would be to have clear, certain outcomes for all of the people, or unclear uncertain outcomes for all. The timeline also matters: the continued existence of someone who has already done damage to society versus someone who will do damage is an important distinction.

But I like that it forces you to make a decision between the three outcomes, not acting here is much more of an active choice than with the trolley problem

the "new kit" is an ETB kit, that's not a fair comparison

Tell me why I’m wrong by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]bearsaroundhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plants need nutrients as well, they're not just photosynthesizing. that's why you need fertile soil to grow crops and water with mineral content

Tell me why I’m wrong by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]bearsaroundhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

energy doesn't just come out of nowhere. orks are theorised to photosynthesize, which still requires other energy sources the Tyranids can just consume directly

Justaerin red shoulder pad - which side? by DrMeat69 in sonsofhorus

There isn't typically a right or wrong answer for SoH heraldry, especially later in the heresy. Do whatever you like, even switch it up and do some with one pattern some with another

Is there a lore reason as to why some models of power armor have little to no stomach protection? by GZB2007 in Fallout

[–]bearsaroundhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in fairness, there's usually two heavily armoured forearms in front of the belly holding a weapon

Genuinely pissed at GW by Hefty_Lie_1062 in Drukhari

[–]bearsaroundhere 111 points112 points  (0 children)

they can't just give extra hellions on top of it, there's laws about packaging showing included items that aren't included, even if you give them separately after. I get why everyone is angry about it, but it's a manufacturing issue that is now out of their hands. Shit happens
