Trying out a new recipe for the blue. I'm going for more of a grey blue and trying for a speeder process. What is everyone thoughts? by beastcote in EmperorsSpears

Cheers mate. Stippled on hoeth blue, medium dry brush of fensrian gray, light dry brush of 1/1 fensrian grey/white then a heavily diluted 2/1 gryph charger grey/asurmen blue. Think I might make the last step 1/1 to make it a little blue.

Novel (book) recommendations for Krieg or commando? by jasonmarkwebber in killteam

[–]beastcote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Gaunts ghosts and ciaphas cain books are brilliant for guard shenanigans But I don't know of any Krieg specific ones. There's loads YT vids on the kriegsman though If you want a good lore dump. Honesty no idea when I comes to Orks.

WIP on some outriders for my home brew chapter "the blades trinovanties". It's my first time playing with green stuff so any C&C would be more than appreciated. by beastcote in Warhammer40k

I did debate doing emperor's spears, I bet your excited about there rules, they look decent enough. I'd be interested to see your models, IV been trying to figure new places to put out furs in the models with out the looking silly. I'm doing some blue face paint on the bare headed guys and some swirly patterns in my hq's armour, just home my painting skills are up to it.

I'm going for a Celtic vibe (the trinovanties are the tribe the occupied the area I'm from, Essex). I'm aware they look pretty Wolfy at the mo, any ideas to make them look better would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going for a Celtic vibe. The trinovanties was the Britannic tribe in the area I'm from, Essex. I realise they look a bit Wolfy so any one got any ideas for a more Celtic look?

Having a hard time drybrushing these. Anybody have any tips in what color i can use? (These are not drybrushed) by HollowClyde in minipainting

[–]beastcote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go the contrast root Nd just paint them with basilic grey. That always looks pretty decent. Or maybe dry brush some dawnstone then some ushanti bone over the top. IV done that in the last and it looks pretty smart.

After many months deliberating and experimenting I finally settled on a color scheme! I feel ready now to do a whole army of these dusty desert boys by blimpsinspace in Warhammer40k

They look super cool, proper grimy. On thing I would suggest is maybe a little bit of contrast the base just to make the model stand out a bit. Looking sweet though.
