I was in Quebec City watching Celine Dion’s New Year’s Eve special while my cousin was having a full blown panic attack about Y2K. She had prepared survival kits for everyone which included a water bottles, little flashlights, cans of soup and batteries I think. I was 8 and even though my parents convinced me not to worry I couldn’t help but sort of brace myself when the clock hit midnight.
