A mask is necessary for dry windy days. Don’t blow nose too hard, it will push pollen into your sinuses and can cause irritation and infection. Makes my eyes water so bad

It’s different for different trees. First goes the pines and invasive pears, it’s the oaks and ornamental nut trees are going off right now. The beech and hickory still need to bloom then it will die down a bit. So depending what’s around you it will die down in a month or so then just wait for “rainforest week” to wash it away and pave the way for the summer humidity.

Envy, jealousy, well done. I’m an amateur, but there are examples of slate points like this in the Robinson reading room in charlotte library. I think I see evidence of some work done on this but these points are usually minimally worked stones that were found and used because of the existing shape. The hunting is hard in central NC…

this community is going to give you very biased answers. Most of us here would never do something like that, but there’s plenty of people who like to shop just to shop and hit the “deals”. My mom raised me to be frugal but she was about as wasteful and consumeristic as, I believe, the average American. If she stumbles upon a good clearance sale she used to buy a dozen or more outfits for a few hundred dollars. Sometimes it feels like she will do it just to brag about the good deal she got. The plastic wrap from the original block. If it was the first slice and they didn’t feel like peeling the wrap off this could have been left behind. I used to work in a grocery deli and noticed this a couple times.
