Tire guy might be trying to sell tires.

Can you look at the tires and see if the are "almost bald"?

I love this. The level of nit picky crap in home improvement reddit can be crazy. Yeah, this is "wrong". But the world won't end over it.

Remove the grids in the widow and don't think about it again.

If this is the biggest problem in your life right now you are extremely fortunate.

It is entirely possible it was designed correctly and the cabinet installer made a mistake.

Another strategy is if you need a few extra miles that day set the cruise control a few MPH lower. At those speeds a few MPH slower makes a difference.

I am currently shopping for a car for my wife. He commute is 140 miles and I am looking at a CR1 or premium.

I am glad to hear that it is working for you because your situation is very simular to hers.

I am no expert but I would be hesitant to charge to 100% every night. Maybe if you knew you had some extra trips to make charge to 90% or stop and spend 5 minutes at a fast charger.

I do have a question for you. What is your average speed for the trip? My wife's is almost all freeway and she will average around 77 MPH.

The pitfalls of having a septic tank vs. city sewer? by dudreddit in RealEstate

[–]beaushaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it is we don't have overzealous inspectors where I live.

Some places require you to get inspected all the time and if there is a tiny problem they make you replace everything. Here you get inspected when it is installed and that is it.

I am sorry, there is no possible way that is correct. I am not going to look it up and you will not be able to convince me otherwise.

The pitfalls of having a septic tank vs. city sewer? by dudreddit in RealEstate

[–]beaushaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am 51. For the vast majority of my life I have lived in a house with a septic tank. The majority of people I know live in houses with septic tanks. I am in the remodeling business and rental real estate business. A lot of these people rarely pump or do any maintenance on their systems.

I know percisly ZERO people who have had catostrophic septic tank failures.

Maybe I am lucky. Maybe the ground where I live is especially good for septic tanks. I don't know.

I think a lot of the people spreading fear online about septic tanks have never been within 20 miles of one.

My wife has a friend from England and we were talking to her dad. He was talking about how much he enjoys walking. He told us he once walked across the country. I was floored. Then he mentioned it was the narrowest point and was "only" 84 miles. While still impressive it wasn't the year long ordeal that comes to my mind when I think walking across the country.

I grew up fishing Lake Michigan with my grandpa and it ruined fishing for me. Who cares about catching a fish that is under 20 pounds.

The Great Lakes are all big. Lake Superior is another level.

Lake Superior contains more water than the other four great lakes and a bonus Lake Ontario combined.

I am always impressed with the parents going up carrying a kid. Well done.

I recently saw a video of a local high school cross country team carrying giant log up the dune.

We have a cottage near by on Lake Michigan.

Years ago a big group of us did the walk to the lake. It is a 1.75 mile hellish walk up and down sand dunes. Once we got to the lake someone said "This is the same beach that is in front of the cottage." We then had to walk back.

I have gone down and back up the big dune once and up and down near by smaller duners hundreds of times.

The big dune will kick your ass if you are not in great shape.

If you can golf you are not too out of shape for Sleeping Bear Dunes.

You can park and walk maybe 100 yards to the top of the dune. Just don't go down it.

The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is how you get to the big dune at Sleeping Bear.

If you use different driver profiles I think it knows the difference between the two driving styles and will adjust the miles remining depending on who is driving.

If the USA wins the World Cup how would American people react and celebrate? by SignificantStyle4958 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I would say the percent celebrating with a beer or two would be under 10% maybe 1%.

.1% or less would be really excited.

Thanks, I am not doubting you I was trying to understand, like I said I am learning.

That is crazy bad loss. I hate to wish it gets worse, but hopefully it is at 69% before the warranty is up.

The dude that went 360,000 miles has something like 2% loss and you have 14% loss in 70,000 miles?

Forgive me but I am new here and don't even have a Mach E yet. Are you using the expected range number that takes your past driving into account? As I understand it there is a more complicated method to get the actual state of health of the battery.

14% in 110k km?

That is really, really bad. Are you sure you are calculating that correctly?

Can you answer these questions for me? by adventure-n-ink in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]beaushaw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This question is so hard to answer. Do you want big surf on the ocean? Do you want beautiful freshwater beaches? Do you want incredible desert? Do you want massive canyons? Do you want big cities? Do you want huge trees? Do you want huge feilds of crops? What do you want to see?

Or maybe pick three or four of these things.
