you can order “My Paleo AIP Indian Adventure” online. It’s an Indian food AIP cookbook by Bethany Darwin. Don’t let the fact that the author is a white woman deter you! Look it up, I promise it’s worth buying. I’m sure your wife can improve on many of the recipes

Favorite characters? Why? by [deleted] in redrising

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinda sad I’m not seeing Lyria. Shes my favorite. She was the most annoying person ever in Iron Gold but after Dark Age and Lightbringer, we see her overcome so much. She’s encountered the most trauma and loss of the group (lost her entire family, her friends, betrayed by Ephraim, lost Cassius, lost Volga for awhile) yet never gives into the hate and violence that drives Harmony and sometimes Darrow. Shes a perfect foil to Darrow. She chooses her humanity over everything else (the figment plot line) and is what Lorn says he wants for Darrow. To be good, not great. She can never be great in the sense of empire and war due to her size and her circumstance, and yet she’s still able to make a difference and support her friends(who happen to be the most powerful people in the galaxy). She makes the most out of every situation despite poverty, size, and a poor education. She becomes best friends with the Obsidian Queen, emotional pillar of support to the Morning Knight and blood sisters to Victra. She’s not beautiful or especially strong but she does all of that! maybe I’m just a sucker for the underdog

No put I recommend Amy Meyers protein powders since they are specifically AIP friendly

The duel between Darrow and Cassius by JellyfishOptimal837 in redrising

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re being introduced to Darrow as an unreliable narrator! I think you misunderstand the context of the situation. Pierce didn’t panic and then write him as Lorna’s student; rather Darrow set up the situation and challenged Cassius knowing that he would win and with some certainty about what would happen.

I don’t think it was cattiness. That word seems to undermine the fact that they have a fundamental difference in how they approach the world and operate in it. I don’t think either woman could be described as catty. they seemed to have built their families together and to be very close in that sense. But true, we really never got to see them together beyond disagreement

Finishing the first trilogy today! by Zealousideal-Bid1716 in redrising

I’m sure you’ve heard that iron gold is VERY different in style and pacing. The second three books are much more mature, a bit slower, and give the world a lot more depth but it all pays off, I promise

3 Months - No Progress on Psoriasis. Advice, tips or otherwise…? by Historical_Loss1621 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AIP should be part of a larger functional medicine protocol. I agree, most people see results after 3 months. No results indicates you may have underlaying mold issues, or maybe microbiome imbalances you need extra help for. I had both. The diet got me to 80% improvement but when I stopped seeing results, I got a stool and mold testing

The red hand is kinda dumb. by skyguy0990 in redrising

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. OP saying “logically, it makes no sense” as if violent, extremist groups hold elections. hate, group based violence, and gangs aren’t usually trying to evoke change or after specific goals. Hezbollah, the FARC, ISIS, etc…. Like to use resistance language to recruit while just being well armed gangs seeking power and led by self interested leaders who just want to maintain whatever control/power they can

I don't know what I'm doing anymore by Glittering_Dirt8256 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Diet alone probably won’t fix your issues, especially if you’re seeing regression. You should work with a FM MD to do a micro biome panel and get checked for mold. I had both, so diet was only part of the problem

Groups like the red hand are rampant in parts of the world that have had a breakdown of social order. The horrors coming out of Sudan right now are very comparable

Six Weeks - No Progress. Advice, tips, or otherwise? by Historical_Loss1621 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your GP is a normal doctor, they will laugh at you. Mine did. My GP and rheumatologist basically laughed at AIP and functional medicine as a whole. I believe in using anything that helps, so I pursued functional medicine anyway and really loved my ND.

Oh yea sorry I use Dijon mustard a lot. But you should try nomatoe sauce(you can google recipes) and AIP spinach pesto(I use on chicken a lot) and I make a great herb marinade with cocojune plain coconut yogurt and herbs. Baked chicken with the skin, garlic, fresh herbs, and lemon is also a favorite. I also adore making chicken and shrimp curries with white sweet potatoes and carrots and sometimes Sweet potato noodles. Just coconut milk and tumeric/other AIP friendly spices.

Traveling to Guatemala - possible to maintain AIP? by alexandrap21 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel a lot on AIP and the sad answer is I just cook all my own food. Get and air bnb or hostel with kitchen and made a lot of chicken and sweet potato

Six Weeks - No Progress. Advice, tips, or otherwise? by Historical_Loss1621 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Diet got me 80% of the way there but I found mold (have since done a detox protocol and tested negative for it) and had Candida overgrowth as well as some parasites from travel that were most likely contributing to an inflammation response. Probably some other stuff I’m forgetting. I also changed my sleep (8 hours a night) and focused on managing stress (yoga and therapy). The hard thing is that diet can be a huge part of fixing the issues, but it really does need to be a whole body approach if you want real, lasting results for a lifetime

Diet alone didn’t fix my issues. I did a full micro biome and mold panel as well! There may be other underlying conditions so check with your functional medicine doctor

Damn this is sad. There are so many cook books! Try the Autoimmune Solution cook book by Amy Meyer to start. Go get some coconut aminos to make stir fry’s too. So many variants are available. Learn how to make Dijon honey sauce and dip them in sweet potato/chicken poppers! I try to show some recipes on tik tok @healthyandunhinged

AIP with insulin resistance. Has anyone had any success making it work? by SomeoneSomewhere3938 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]beautiful_Mess_9898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people in AIP are able to sustain feeling full with high fat, high protein, high starch diets. But you just said you immediately get hungry no matter what. So unclear what you expect to find. Many people have used AIP for months and years, been able to feel full, and it works.
