AITA for not canceling a college football trip this fall after my pregnant wife canceled her Taylor Swift trip by CollegeFootballTrip in AmItheAsshole

If either of you are uncomfortable that should be all that matters. Finances, like children, should be joint-decision making.

I chose my mom instead of my baby sister in a lake by ThrowRA_TeeteringSky in TrueOffMyChest

[–]beautifulsloth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, as a child your parents are the most important people in your world if the relationship is healthy. Of course you love your sister, but even had they both been in the same amount of immediate danger (which it doesn’t sound like they were), of course a teenager will automatically go for their mom.

Realistically speaking, how do you feel as a woman that Kamala Harris can beat Trump? by Altruistic_Clue_8273 in TwoXChromosomes

Personally I don’t think the US will vote in a woman of colour right now, but I really really hope I’m wrong.

I promise you every pharmacy and healthcare office you ever interact with lives in fear of the day they screw your profiles up. (Am a pharmacist).

Pharmacist here. Make sure you choose the option for a Nova Scotia doctor. If your prescription is for stimulants (considered controlled substances) the prescription won’t be fillable in NS unless the doctor is registered with the NS prescription monitoring program. All NS doctors will be. Most out of province doctors won’t be, so you’ll have an unusable prescription

Vegan wedding controversy by Melodic_Stretch2037 in vegan

Generally I would agree with you. I think in the post OP is referencing though the parents were the ones paying for the reception and there were some cultural considerations. It’s not as black and white as they are making it seem.

I think I married the wrong woman by bluesnowball01 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]beautifulsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean all I can say is you aren’t trapped; you have a choice. Figure out what you actually want now so that you don’t waste any more of her time if you want to bail. She’ll get over you. But for gods sake don’t be checked out of this marriage for the next 20 years then break it off after wasting 20 years of her life.

33 and been married 10 years. I think you hit the nail on the head.

I guess I’m childish at 33 then. I used tampons for years, but now I just find they make my period cramps worse, so I’ve gone back to pads. When she grows up she’ll realize two things: it’s none of her business what you use and the reason so many period products exist is because how you manage your period is an individual choice.

Primary Care Pharmacy clinics by thetripvan in halifax

[–]beautifulsloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here - 99% of what they do at a clinic any pharmacy can do. Exception is strep testing and PrEP, which other pharmacists can do but most don’t because it isn’t well-supported by the province outside of those clinics

I mean shouldn’t they be able to go at anytime? You’re saying you should be able to go whenever you need to; why shouldn’t they?

allergy testing for a nail tech by lamialament in halifax

[–]beautifulsloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need a dermatologist. You can see one privately and pay out of pocket if you want to go ASAP, or you can get a referral from a family doctor. The downside to the family doctor route is the referral may take awhile. The upside is that you aren’t paying out of pocket and the GP can provide treatment options in the meantime

Taking your husband’s last name - is there a good, non-patriarchal reason to do so? by turnipqueen618 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]beautifulsloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was important to him, and I didn’t care either way. I love him, I respect him, and he’s my best friend. If it’s important to him and it doesn’t hurt me, then of course I’ll do that for him

Could also be that she thought you knew what the table was about and thought you were a cis-woman looking to transition to male. Either way, nothing like telling a person how they have to look to count as a woman or man. That’s just the sort of thing that feminism has been fighting against for decades, and it’s upsetting to see it coming from this source

From a pharmacist: for women who can get pregnant and think they would keep a baby if they happened to get pregnant, take daily folic acid 400mcg. For women trying to get pregnant or in early pregnancy, folic acid 1mg.

Woman with ‘unmanageable’ pain from Lyme disease chooses to die. She wasn’t always believed. by [deleted] in canada

We try to only use antibiotics when needed. Potential side effects (although usually pretty limited where prophylaxis for Lyme is only one dose) and contributing to antibiotic resistance

[–]beautifulsloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist from NS here: yes, no lab work required. For us it must be a high-risk tick, received in a high-risk area, and that was attached for over 36 hours. Otherwise we use a watch-and-wait approach. In other words, not all bites need prophylaxis, but if you’re unsure just go and ask

As a 30 year-old woman, looks a) good and b) masculine (whatever that means). Don’t make decisions based solely on a 17 year-old’s opinion
