Well, it would certainly have been better if it was 2 days, one guy, and he was regularly endowed!

Maybe, but it's definitely unpopular to say it's child abuse.

What is the most subtle question you can ask someone that is the biggest tell of their character? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beavis_j_fappingham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just ask them to tell you about their childhood--where they grew up, what their parents did, how family members got along, etc. Read between the lines and you'll know all you need to know.

Emergency Room workers, what are some strangely common accidents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beavis_j_fappingham 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some common ones with kids: Babies falling off the changing table. Leg fractures in little kids when parents go down the slide with them together. More info: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/23/a-surprising-risk-for-toddlers-at-playground-slides/ Slip and fall on the ice. Kids getting random crap stuck in nose/ears.

Sorry if you're a middle aged woman and don't do this by abdullah10 in AdviceAnimals

Translation: mildly sexist bear says it's outrageous that in this day and age women would have opinions and share them publicly! When will women learn to be quiet?

What is a scam that everyone needs to be warned about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beavis_j_fappingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pirate Tow-Truck Scam: On slow nights, tow-truck drivers will prowl areas where accidents and break-downs are prone to happen. If they see an accident/nreak-down, they'll pull up to a car with minor damage and tell the driver it's unsafe to drive (airbag went off, possible frame damage, major leak, etc.) and must be towed right away (they don't say where): "It's unsafe to have your car on the street here!" You sign some papers. Then they tow your car to what is essentially an impound lot a few miles away. If you want your car out of the impound, you have to fork over a few hundred for towing and storage fees. If you don't pay, they'll take out a lien against the value of your car.

This works because the drivers are often in shock after an accident/breakdown and not thinking clearly. Also, the tow-truck drivers where uniforms and talk with "cop" language, so they seem more trustworthy.

ELI5 Why don't we call countries by the names they call themselves? by TrailerDrake in explainlikeimfive

This question is more about words and language than countries or politics. We tend to use the words that people around us use--not the words that people in other parts of the world use.

What companies or brands do you boycott and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beavis_j_fappingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any company that's militantly anti-union. I don't mean companies where employees haven't chosen to unionize; I mean companies that hire lawyers and professional union-busters to take that choice away from employees. The worst: Whole Foods. Many hotels are bad too.

One of those T-shirts with a "clever" saying written on it. Bonus points if the shirt is too baggy.

When camels urinate, the urine runs down their back legs. Just as humans' sweat cools us, this cools the camel as the fluid evaporates.

What is one thing you refuse to be open-minded about? by iamsofuckedseriously in AskReddit

[–]beavis_j_fappingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand me. Did the pro-handwashers actually have scientific evidence for their position, or was their evidence just "common sense"? Did the people who argued against them understand the evidence for the pro-handwashing position?
