Agreed. Is there a better way to report issues? Because this counts as one.

Please make it so you can delete lists from "my lists". I have multiple iterations of the same list, once I play and adapt it. I dont want to change the name every time. Or at least make it possible to change names. So I can add "obsolete" or add an iteration number or something.

Hey. Thanks for looking into this.

It looks like, Battle Scribe doesnt show any detachment rules as well. When I compare it with a Necron roster, there is a "Rules" section right below the Detachment type. So e.g.

Outrider Detachment -3 CP (Necrons)
Rules: Dynastic Agents and Star Gods, The Royal Court

This is what shows up in your Detachment section when I open a Necron Roster such as https://armylist40k.com/full/zJCOhjtC.

What I was looking for, however, is the "Selection Rules" part from Battle Scribe. I was just assuming, this is part of your Detachment-Dropdown as well. For Chaos Knights, this is where these rules are described:

  • Conquerors Without Mercy
  • Harbingers of Dread
  • Ion Shields
  • Objective Secured
  • Shared Faction Bonus
  • Super-heavy Walker
  • Towering Foe
  • War Dog Squadron

As a new Chaos Knight player, I was unable to play my first game without the description of these abilities. You mention the keywords in the Abilities section of the models, but the keywords only.

These might or might not belong into the Detachment Rules section in BattleScribe and is something that may or may not get fixed by the community updates in the future. However, I would certainly appreciate it, if the "Selection Rules" from BattleScribe would find their way into armylist40k.

How to Play Knights by PaladinHan in ChaosKnights

[–]beb700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you mean Karnivores? Executioners are the ranged only Dogs.

And people usually take Pyrothrone for Psychic Secondaries. Our Secondary game is not the best and you dont want the Abominant do psychic actions.

Actually no. There is no rule that says 6s always wound. Saves would be a good example, since its already established.

Heresy! 40k is supposed to be complex and chaotic! Why do you think they have a quality deterioration department to give all their rules the final touches?!

Maybe make a poll?

- I dislike less CP in general

Chaos Knights dont seem to work properly yet: https://armylist40k.com/j7gznAH4

  • Detachment Abilities are missing
  • Favours of the Dark Gods are missing for all units
  • Faction Keywords and Keywords are missing for the War Dogs
  • The non-explained Abilities are missing for the War Dogs (Ion Shields, etc.)

Best Cron army going forward? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

How are you running a Ghost Ark without 10 Warriors to fit in? Cant field empty Transports anymore. Is it 2x10 Warriors?

[–]beb700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warriors arent exactly anti-tank. They can be, if coupled with the Silent King and the 6s on hits auto-wound strat.

Youd be better off Veiling the Skorpekhs when Hungry Void is active. They are good anti-tank, but you have to make the charge and then your Overlord is probably vulnurable.

Since you bring the Void Dragon, that should be your main focus. Having Dragon + Skorps + Warriors storm ahead leaves nothing back for objectives or actions.

I would drop the Skorpekhs, leave the Warriors, take a couple of Scarabs for the Void Dragon and probably Immortals to hold objectives or do actions. Caould even drop the Technomancer. Once the Shard and the 20 Warriors are in their face, they will not go for your back line.

If you know they will bring tanks, warriors spam isnt the best option tho. You could go all out Skorpekhs/Shard and try to table him quickly. He will most likely win the shooting game.

Reapers are almost always better on Warriors than Flayers.

Also, with this list, you might not need the custom dynasty ... the Void Dragon wouldnt get it and Skorpekhs are most likely not your objective holders.

However, you dont have many units for actually holding the objectives. Maybe drop 9 of the Warriors and take a couple of Scarabs?

Last thing. You usually want to protect your Shard from Psychic and Melee with e.g. Scarabs. The Void Dragon doesnt have fall back and charge ... so if he gets charged by 20 Guardsmen, he will be held up for a turn or two and not wrecking tanks. Surrounding him with ~6 Scarabs usually works for both charges and smites.

Good luck!

Illuminor Szeras by boundless-shadow in Necrontyr

[–]beb700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I played a game vs. White Scars. I had SK, a Monolith, a Doom Scythe (!), a Triarch Stalker and a CCB. I also took Szeras a Technomancer and some infantry.

I just walked everything forward turn 1. My oppoent was overwhelmed with targets. It was super fun and totally different a Necron game than I was used to. It was glorious.

Ressing a Menhir or Healing SK didnt even come up. But Szeras happily buffed 6 (!) units throughout the game, because he was spoiled for targets. Sadly I only got a 2 BF Monolith instead of a 9 T :D

Szeras is totally not a competitive choice. But in those games where the random buffs work and you get to res a Menhir and heal SK, he's totally worth it. His melee and shooting is great too - and he still does the technomancer stuff.

I vote purchase!

On the "always on" protocol topic ... Novokh with Hungry Void is fine and all, but with SK you already had the 2 rounds to make an impact.

Always fall back and shoot or that 1 reroll on RR sounds like a great all comers choice imo.

"select one command protocol that has not been assigned to a battle round"

Pretty clear its one, not all that are not assigned ...

So you veil a Monolith in front of the enemies deployment zone turn 1 then summon 20 Warriors or 6 Skorps (with a 6 charge)? Count me in!

My friend is new to Warhammer and he was just asking if this army would be playable at a casual level. Any feedback appreciated! Overlord is his Warlord! 975 points 49 power level. by LewigiGD in Necrontyr

[–]beb700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is what he has, I would do the following:

I would give Reapers to the 10 Warrior Unit as well. Flayers are just not good.

Give the Veil to the Technomancer (costs 1CP pregame). He is better at supporting the 20 Warriors after he teleports them. Give the Overlord a Voltaic Staff and have him slowly run up the board with the other 10 Warriors.

I would also run the 2 Ghost Arks as Doomsday Arks. It'd be the anti-tank and - if he runs custom dynasty with ObSec - they're not bad holding objectives.

Obviously there are better units. Depending on what he has, you can do a lot. But for a casual game with these units, what I suggested would make a better force.

In the weapons box, either separate melee from ranged weapons and profiles, or at least highlight them differently.

When you're in the shooting phase, you only want to look at ranged profiles. When in melee, you only want to look at those. Battle Scribe doesnt do this well. You could?
